I love you Piers! Your ranting is just fab, and as an American who recently went to Europe, it was very sad to see that many of the EU citizens believed that we Americans support the actions of the most horrible president in history.
You have, as usual, stated the case with total accuracy and an objective, yet deeply observant eye.
We Americans are so happy to have Bush out of the White House and the new hope that is Barack Obama, but you know the old boy network here in the US is vast and they are already fighting our new President at every opportunity.
The USA has led the way to global disaster and I, for one, am ashamed to see what out greed and arrogance has done. We need intelligent people like you over here. Britain is fortunate to have men like you. I hope the rest of the world can forgive us for our selfishness. I don’t think I can.

Bush was right to fight to keep us safe.He is not ignorant.If you want ignorant,just look at Obama.He is destroying our country,people losing jobs,losing their retirement funds,bailing all the companies out,appointing Czars to take away our freedoms,and Obama makes mistakes after mistakes.The man is told what to say by a Teleprompter and he still gets it wrong.When in Egypt,he said the Moslems invented the Arch,I think not….it was the Romans.He does no work and is simply a figurehead and doing what the Democratic Party is telling him to do.
We will have a Revolution,the Beatles had it right.We are not going to sit idlly by and let this man destroy Capitalism, our Constitution and America.You may do it differently over in England,but that is not the Amnerican Way.We will not sit back while this Socialist president destroys the moral fabric that makes this country great.
You may want to rethink things,because England as I saw it when I lived there was pretty miserable.People received substandard health care,illegal immigrants got the best treatment while the British got the shaft.People back in 2000/2001 in England were really miserable and wanted to get out of Great Britain.It is probably worse now.

How many British soldiers were killed or wounded because of Bush starting a stupid war with Iraq instead of finishing up Ben Laden? How much of the economy in both of our countries was destroyed because of the deregulation of the banks? And who let 9/11 happen because he and his staff paid no attention to warnings? British people were killed in the World Trade Center, too.
I return to this site not only because of your connection to Susan Boyle, but because you are also an articulate and insightful writer when you choose to be. (The rest of the time you’re funny.) I still hope at some point you will return to journalism, preferably by editing an online newspaper. Susan Boyle fans could be your fact-checkers–we learned a lot from catching and combating tabloid lies. First you have to get through AGT though.
I always liked you a lot, but this your opinion is truly shocking to me…Maybe G W Bush would agree to be interviewed by you? He may would give you (and us)the reasons of his ‘misbehaviour’?
