Reactions to the fourth semi final
May 29, 2009
‘This is like a soap opera,’ said Simon, shaking his head in disbelief before the show last night.
He’d just heard that all the papers were doing yet more front page stories on Susan Boyle, and admitted to me: ‘I have never known anything like this in my whole career. It’s crazy.’
To be involved in a show that is being watched, analysed, commented on, and lambasted by people all over the world is a strange, slightly unsettling experience.
And that’s just for we judges, who are all very used to the media game after more than 75 years experience between us in the business.
So God knows how poor Susan is feeling (and the rest of the final contestants for that matter, too).
The level of attention they’re getting is just unbelievable.
And these aren’t professionals, they are amateurs who nobody had ever heard of a few weeks ago.
But we’re nearly at the end now, with just one day to go until the Final.
And what a final it’s going to be!
Everyone has always assumed it’s going to be a one-horse race since Susan captured the public imagination with that stunning audition performance seven weeks ago.
But anything can happen on a live show, and it will be fascinating to see how they all react to the incredible pressure pouring on their heads.
I loved last night’s show. It was funny, warm, moving and hilarious.
Julian Smith is a stunning saxophone player, and has a real chance to cause a shock tomorrow night. He’s cool, good-looking, humble, and has a fantastic natural talent - a lethal cocktail.
And I was thrilled to see 2 Grand get there too. There was barely a dry eye in the studio when they sang. Such lovely, genuine people, and they sing so beautifully together.
As for all the furore surrounding Susan, my bet is that she will respond with the performance of her life at the Final. This is one tough lady who has had to fight since the day she was born, and there is no way she’s going to quit now as some of the papers seem to be suggesting, trust me.
The sheer level of abuse she’s getting continues to shock and appall me. Only yesterday, Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood said she ’sings as bad as she looks.’ He called her ‘awful’, and said he ‘wanted to smash the TV’ after her semi-final.
What a disgusting thing to say.
Perhaps he’s just sore that his own dream of having any kind of career in America has never reached first base as they say in baseball.
Either way, pick on someone your own size Horwood - like me, if you’ve got the guts.
Susan’s going to be a major star whatever happens tomorrow. And I for one hope she absolutely nails it on the night, and shoves all these vile critics’ disgraceful attacks down their throats.
Will she win?
In many ways, Susan Boyle’s already won.

Craig’s comments are a disgrace.
How dare he criticise Susan’s looks. It is people like him who have picked on Susan all her life.
Let the woman be happy for once. I so hope she wins to silence all her critics.

Thank you Piers, for being the voice of decency amid all this shameful behavior in the media. Let Susan know that she is loved and thank her for having the courage to share her God-given gift with the world. I will be rooting for her from afar (Maryland, USA) and cannot wait for the video to be posted so I can see & hear her once again.

Horwood is just after self promotion, millions of people like Susans voice, its their choice and taste.
The final will be a showcase for ALL the finalist and if they perform to their best then they can win.
I have my favorites but unlike the publicity seeking ‘lovies’ in the business I will vote for who I thing performes best. Good luck to the all.

Thank you Piers for sticking up for Susan. She is such a breath of fresh air and an inspiration to so many. Her performances can only be described as uplifting and the world needs all the uplifting it can get now. Keep up the good work Mr. Morgan, it’s nice to see a “knight in shining armor” once in awhile.

Well said Piers and about those nasty comments made by a small minority, they are after getting noticed. What do you do if you do not have what it takes to for fill your dreams, to be an Artist? The majority of us we find other things to do and enjoy seeing the ones that have the talent. The minority, they try to find out ways to get attention by beeing silly and hope we will notice them in that way. Simple explenation but probably close to the truth. Do not give them any attention from now on, cause that is exactly what they want. Put them in the dark corner where they belong, I pitty them. Good luck all real talanted people, including the incredable Susan Boyle. Thank you

Piers,
Thank you for another well written piece! It’s unbelieveable the amount of coverage. And why must the media & some people always kick the underdog. Susan has class and is a beautiful woman, inside and out. Those who seek to knock others down are showing the true colour of their ugly characters.
May God bless Susan, where ever she goes.
With love and best wishes from across the pond,

Hi Piers, Nobody is going to listen to that utter orange doughball Craig Revel Horwood anyway - he’s a total idiot and worth nothing. Although I thought I’d never say this as I disliked her audition, Fabia was better last night and looked very pretty with her red hair curling around her face, quite a transformation in fact. I still hope Flawless win though!Best Wishes, Tracey

You are so right in stating that life in the media is not what ordinary people experience everyday. Susan showed in her semi-final that she does have a sense of humour and danced after her singing performance.
I wish all the finalists best of british luck and hope that careers do take off. Each and every act deserves their place in the final tomorrow night. Good luck to you all. I know I wouldn’t have the courage to do what you are doing. This takes more than guts its talent and determination.

Thank you, Piers, for standing up for Susan against the bizarre and senseless attacks to which she’s been subjected. I can understand that her style isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but for anyone to say she’s “AWFUL”…well, they’re either just plain mean-spirited or have ears of tin.
If Susan could pull through to a stunning conclusion under the unprecedented high pressure of that semi-final audition, just imagine the full range of her musical potential under relaxed circumstances! Her quick and sure recovery from the initial “fumble” alone speaks of her professional caliber, though maybe a lot of people in our prerecorded, lip-synched, overdubbed age don’t recognize the pitfalls of live performance. A diamond in the rough, she may be, but a diamond nevertheless.
Your conclusion is right on:
“Susan’s going to be a major star whatever happens tomorrow. …Will she win? In many ways, Susan Boyle’s already won.”
Yes. Yes. Yes.

Julian Smith is a 40 year old cry baby. Awful to see how someone feels sorry for himself.
I can not stand 2 Grand either. The girl with a mediocre voice and a granddad that sings off-key.
For the Brit Chix I felt sorry. And Callum of course. Judges are only useful for the audition round. From the semi-finals on their ego’s are a waist of space.
They shock themselves in the Selection Round, and buzz their mistakes away in the semi-finals. Kids toying with their red button, how will the Brit Chix feel today.
This show should be about talent, and the audience should be the judge of it. (Why not publish the results of the public votes afterwards?)

what a great movie susan’s jounery would be i hope you guys make a movie on her life story even if she does’nt win, i am now seeing what ssusan put up with all her life, in this day and age i taught people know better, griag should look in the mirror befor speaking bad about susan, one simple woman with amazing talent that all she wanted to was sing and the world fell in love with her. after susan sung i dream a dream she started to walk off the stage because for her she did what she wanted to do rock you all and that was enough for her, you could see that she was shock that you all love her so much at the semi finals the same thing, so people for once in her life give her a brake and be happy that she brought some you to the worlds attention i for one never heard of griag, lily, paige nor had any intrest in bgt but for the last six weeks i and so many here in barbados are hooked good luck to all the finalist. and to susan you are our idol no matter what you brought this show to the attention of the world

Your defense of Susan is commendable, Piers. You’ve been a lone voice in support of a lovely, innocent lady who is being unjustly brutalized by much more powerful people. It’s tragic to see so many vicious cowards devote so much energy to punishing Susan for having the audacity to dream. I hope she silences them all with her beautiful voice and emerges triumphant after her ordeal.

I agree fully with you, Susan has already won, whatever happens tomorrow.

Piers, you’ve already said the most important thing - “Susan has already won!”
As yourself said on Larry King, Susan didn’t get the respect she deserved, with the sniggering and eye-rolling when she first appeared on stage.
Probably no one realised she has learning disability and mocking people with disabilities is just cruel.
I hope, if she wins, it will be for her talent and not because of a sympathy/guilty vote.
I also hope she will get all the help she needs to cope with whatever future challenges she faces.

Piers,
Noticed on BGT website Susan Boyle fans
can comment on their support to Susan
and messages will be given to her before
the final.
PLEASE also print the supportive comments
to Susan posted on your various blogs,
most of which have been moving and
well written.
So many of us are frustrated
that we are not in Britain and cannot
vote, moreover we have no way to convey
our support directly to Susan. She can
only read about the few mean jealous
individuals who are out to get her. That’s
because they unfortunately have the tabloid
media as their mouthpiece, but
she doesn’t know about the MILLIONS
worldwide who admire her wonderful talent
and care about her and are supporting her
for the final and will be supporting her when
she launches her career. So please be
our mouthpiece so that Susan is aware that
the people who support her far far far
outnumber the few mean people who don’t.
She needs to know this now more than ever.
Tell Horwood and Allen not to bother to
EVER come to America. They’re not
welcome here.

Thank you, Piers, for letting us know how the judges feel about all of this furor. I’m a nervous wreck just thinking about the contestants taking the stage for the final, especially, for my favorite, Susan Boyle. Unfortunately, I will be in-flight during the final from Austin, TX back to NYC . But, maybe that’s a good thing. I almost had a heart attack last weekend when Susan began to sing. Here’s the thing for me:
Why are you telling the whole wide world that Susan has been in tears, Piers? That she nearly left the competition? Cruel people love that kind of information–and go for more blood.

The Brit Chix are an organic group. A group of friends who decided they wanted to form a band and learned to play the instruments.
They should be commended for that as that is the type of band that will save pop music from the likes of Simon Cowel and his manufactured pop stars.
While the vocals may not have been up to snuff, at least one of the singers had a decent voice and she should be the lead singer for now.
That being said, I think the confusion about their singing comes from the fact that they were doing a more punk/rock version and were intending the vocals to be more ballsy.

Hi Piers
I have really appreciated your intelligent, compassionate, and supportive words for Susan. What a breath of fresh air.
Ever since Susan sang her first song, and won my heart and the hearts of the world, I have been hopeful and encouraged at the possibility of goodness and hope in our world. However, I have been aghast during this past week, as the savage tabloid press, and celebrity wannabees have attacked her so cruelly and childishly. I have been sickened with the dark, dark side of our society. It is hard to understand that people with the power of voice and pen can want to get ahead so much that they are willing to destroy another person. The bullying is ugly!!!
I have been encouraged by your words, and by the comments of others on your site. Susan is loved and has brought a lot of joy to the world. I wish her the ultimate best tomorrow night, and look forward to attending one of her concerts.

Hello again Piers
Keep it coming Piers. If you keep defending Susan, the people who are cynical about her will turn around and see the light. I would love to see his face if Susan wins this contest (again big chance she will).
Please keep posting these blogs in defense of a wonderful woman. PLEASE SAY ON BRITAINS GOT TALENT TONIGHT FOR EVERYONE TO LEAVE SUSAN ALONE! God I feel like I’m going to turn into a Chris Crocker for Susan Boyle. lol!!!

I read a lot about you (not a lot of it good) but after watching you through the past few weeks, and especially watching how you have treated Susan, I have made up my own mind that you have a decency about you that a lot of folks would do well to emulate. You seem to be a real gentleman. Please tell Susan that no matter what happens in the finals she is a winner in our hearts - and always will be.

It breaks my heart to read such crap about Susan Boyle. I am glad Mr. Morgan is sticking up for her. I know how cruel and tough the world can be if you do not have a super high IQ with lots of education etc. I have struggled with learning disabilities all my life although no one has ever made fun of me but when you always hear (you can’t do, not for you, not good enough, not learning fast enough), it has a profound affect on you for the rest of your life. I do appreciate the few wonderful people in my life who have given me a real chance to prove myself.
Despite her difficulties, Susan has a wonderful voice. I only wish that I could sing. I see all these people having fun and I get left out because I do not have the proper vocal cords. That makes me very sad.
I hope this lovely lady wins the contest and the world needs to dig deep down inside and be kind to this lovely person who has succeeded in making a happy life for herself despite the difficulties she has had to ovecome.
Cruelty is really a cover up for people who either do not like themselves or are jealous of others.

Why is it that anytime a person is “discovered”, all the piranhas swarm around, each one trying to get their piece? Then someone else comes along, and they all dart away and go after that person. I sincerely hope that Ms. Boyle will launch a long and successful career and learn to deal with the celebrity culture with grace and dignity. Piers, you are so right. Susan has already won in the only way that really matters. Thank you for injecting a little sanity into the situation. Thank you so much for standing up for Susan Boyle, one of the most beautiful voices I’ve heard in a long time. She has that refreshing small town demeanor that is so rare in this world today. I get tired of all the “Hollywood” trash (they think they are the elite) that is pushed in our faces on a daily basis. Good case in point was the Miss America contestant that was ruined because she answered the question she was asked.
Indeed, she has already won.

There have been many vicious comments made about Susan’s learning diability, as though this were something ghastly about her. Rather, I would say, this is a part of what makes Susan special, in that her success, so far, shows that she has developed some coping skills that a lot of people could use. In this sense, alone, she is already a winner, in that she is succeding as a human being in a world where so many people stumble through life with far less than a full set of human qualities and successful living skills.

Susan needs to remember the “never let ‘em see you sweat” motto. She has a beautiful voice that the world wants to hear but you never can tell in a competition whether someone is trying to undermine her efforts because they’d rather see someone else win. One of the most endearing things about her first performance was the fact that she stood her ground and knocked ‘em dead. STAND YOUR GROUND NOW, SUSAN. You can certainly knock ‘em dead and you deserve the chance.

Once again, Piers, you have revealed your true worth and what a gentleman you are. We shouldn’t be surprised, but then again yes because people of your calibre are almost becoming an endangered species these days. And yes, those printing their spiteful opinions (and they are just opinions, as abysmal as they may be, and I hope Susan recognizes that) are obnoxious and a disgrace to reporting. They do not speak for the rest of us. Thank God. I am delighted to read in the Daily Mail today that Susan is resolved to perform. She has been rehearsing for it and she is not going to let this opportunity pass her by. Kudos to you Susan for your courage and tenacity. As the adage goes, “They say, let them say.” It does nothing to you. It changes nothing. But there is a silver lining to the cloud - you have discovered what a true champion of your talent you have in Piers Morgan. I shall be cheering for you, Susan, all the way over here in Arizona on the West Coast of the USA. You are a dream come true for all who seek the talent out there that was hidden away somewhere. I wish we in the states could see BGT on the TV; and from my perspective, yes, Susan Boyle has brought global attention to the show. I for one of hundreds of thousands are cheering for her. Yes, there are some very talented people competing; but there is something very special about Susan’s story — and she does have a fantastic voice even at her age by which time many famous voices begin to lose their luster. Can you imagine the quality of that voice when she was younger? As for the British media/press, frankly I as a yank have always been apaulled by your tabloids, and I’m a media junky. They simply will say or do anything to get their moment in the sun and hope to mack a buck. Their behavior is shameful.

Asalamu Alaykom Piers,
You have a good heart, mashahallah. You are someone who feels empathy with others and who hears their truth. Only such a person as yourself can see, hear and appreciate Susan Boyle. She has uniquely God-given talent. Maybe her outer shell has had to be coarse or tough to hide what a delicious treasure she has in her singing ability and truly sweet disposition.
Those hardhearted critics are truly blind and deaf to what the rest of us are enjoying. May God strength Susan against their sharp barbs. May she remember that Pebbles never complained once about her singing, so she can just shut the door on the rest.

Your poise in the face of such overwhelming pressure is astounding. Your brief stumble only proves your humanity; please don’t worry about those folks who don’t understand that.
How we wish we could get these words of encouragement to you BEFORE Saturday night. Just know that there are many folks truly in your corner, so strongly pulling for you — or, as Piers worded it — “WILLING” you to yet another “knock their socks off” moment.
This IS truly your moment! You’ve already proven you can do it. And we find great joy in your success!
~ ~ ~
PS to Piers: God Bless You for your understanding and support of this dear lady. Impressive, and heart-warming. And, in our view, speaks well of you, too. Thank you, sir.

Thank you Mr Morgan.
I have taught special need kids for 33 years in America. Your ability to get on a stage in front of so many people and “rock” the crowd makes you a winner regardless of what the outcome of BGT is. You have uplifted us when we needed it. You voice is superb. Keep on being you. You are amazing. L am looking forward to your final and a record.
Susan,
“Who you are is God’s gift to you. Who you become is your gift to God” God is smiling down on you today:)
Good luck Saturday.

Dear Piers,
you are a ‘dear’ now after reading today’s blog, thank you for going to battle for Susan. You are the only one of the judges that really care about her, i.e.look at that interview that you & Amanda gave on 25.5.09 to a show in the USA it’s on you tube listen to her reaction when the host asked about a romance between you and Susan..That is the reason Susan was surprised by her support at her audition, outwardly pretty women have probably been snooty towards her all of her life and to think a judge of the final show is the same, sad. Hope it’s only the public votes that count that night I have been trying but can’t find out how it’s settled on the big night.
I am not going to waste words any more on those mean spirited people out there, it isn’t worth it.
Did you get a chance to find out how Susan is feeling today? hope so, all of her fans are praying for her, we will route for her all the way….may she bring the house down with joy at her amazing talent and feel the love from all around the world as well as the British public. I wish I could vote for her. God willing you will not have to wait for the results from the phone calls, you will all know that you are in the presence of a wonderfully Blessed woman on Saturday night. That generous heart of hers will continue to draw everyone to her even more, I am glad that you are aware, you realised it on that first night didn’t you?
Susan’s song that night was fitting then, but the end of it leaves the dream dead. She should sing it on an album, but for her big night the first of many bigger ones to come, she needs to sing a song of triumph (climb every mountain) comes to mind it’s from a marvellous musical (a true story) of conquering in life and love to feel completely alive! So many of us will like to hear her sing that one too. She has overcome so much to get to this stage of her life and will accomplish so much more as time goes by. Please ask her if she wants to hold the mic in her hand the way she did at home to practice, so that she can interact with the audience and not stand in one spot all the time, that is if she wants to perform that way. Give her the choice.
She is a very intelligent woman, who sincerely shows her love openly which is rare these days.If she got mad about your comment to the contestant that night more power to her! you could have said he was very good too, that’s ok but not the best when you know she loves you and had just done her best under trying circumstances. I would have been hurt and jealous too, esp. after telling the world that ‘Piersy baby’ is her cup of tea.Put yourself in her place how would you have felt?
We are all waiting with bated breath for her performance, to hear her angelic voice once more…
Give her all the support she needs from you Piers in spite of the other judges ( isn’t it the public’s decision on that night? so you will not be doing anything wrong.) No matter what get up on that stage and tell the world that you love her too and give her a nice kiss, we will cheer you both on! If you have to walk away from that company then so be it , I think you will be better off without the other two you have outgrown them mentally. You and Susan will have a great life and career bringing joy where ever you go. We know you are imperfect like the rest of us, but blessed to lift others up and that’s a wonderful gift to have, it will make us love you both so much, because that is what the world needs right now & in the future.
Knock their socks off Susan!! we love you! God speed.

Thanks for standing behind Susan, Piers. You’re right. She has already won. She does not need to win the competition. But she has given one more wake up call - prejudice against people with “learning” disabilities. Susan is very much a lady, but just as she is “older,” and “frumpy,” she is also dealing with whatever the oxygen deprivation at birth did to her. She was called “Susie Simple,” or “Simple Susan” in school because she had those learning disabilities. What made neighborhood children tease her? They weren’t in class together. Susan is a beautiful person, but she is also sometimes childlike in her actions and reactions. Welcome to the world of people who are dealt a hand they never asked for or wanted. Add to that growing up in what has been described a tough neighborhood, where profanity is possibly as prolific as the plant life. I am NOT dissing Susan or West Lothian. I’m trying to point out that Susan is Susan. We get the angel, the apprehension, the humor and the outbursts. That does not diminish her singing talent. So get off the pick on Susan kick, already. Susan is still a very special person with many lessons to teach! Learn them!!!

Piers, I just want to say thank you for standing up for Susan. She is a truly amazing person with a beautiful voice. Horwood and others are acting quite juvenile. I think it’s offensive to go on about the way Susan looks. While she’s no raving beauty, Susan isn’t ugly by any means. It’s whats on the inside that counts.
I’ve actually written several articles on her this week, and I’m sure my editors will think I’m out of my mind for doing so, but she is really a star. I think she will go far, whether she wins this show or not. I know I’ll be in line for her first CD!
Again, thank you Piers! You’re awesome!

I am delighted you have articulated so well the challengse facing Susan and the other final contestants. Because of Susan’s awesome voice, her inner beauty, her stage poise, and the ways she has overcome many difficult life’s challenges the world fell in love with her. In so many ways she is very innocent, despite experiencing cruelties from many humans over the years that I am actually amazed she was even able to audition for BGT. I am delighted you have demonstrated such TREMENDOUS sensitivity, caring and compassion in supporting her during the past few weeks as she has endured other negative behavior. You are indeed a “prince of a gentleman” for supporting her and reminding others of the many obstacles she has overcome. In the next few days hopefully you and Simon can work a miracle to have the finals televised “live’ in the US with posted telephone numbers so Americans can vote. You are right - Susan has won! I hope she again sings “I Dream a Dream” or “Climb Every Mountain” and again rocks the world with her radiant smile and unbelievable - beautiful voice! She has won my heart and my applause as she has the rest of the world. Kudos to her and to you and Amanda for proudly and publicly defining her needs and her talent. What positive role models you all are! You all have made Britain and American proud! G in Florida

thank god she has you to stand up for her piers, rather than just her family who are as useless as tits on a bull it seems to me. First ranting she should quit the show and be given a contract immediately - sweet brother gerald (sweet is sarcastic) and today brother John chimes in:
“If I were in Simon Cowell’s shoes, I would tell Susan she wouldn’t be allowed on the show unless she got her act together.”
she took on the job of looking after her parents while they went on with their own lives, now they seem to either want a piece of the action or like to make it harder on her. i think they used her over the years while disdaining her.
So thank you Piers!

This has been a whirlwind for everyone. even those of us who are safely tucked away in our living rooms, or dens, typing on our computers thousands of miles away, it has been unlike anything ever. This is the most popular thing to happen since the invention of the internet. All of this is due to the internet. Susan will go down in history as being the first to cause such a world wide sensation. I have been finding myself nervous about your final for days now. Even crying at times. Feeling terrible for what some of the media are trying to do for her. Realizing how much stress this is not just for her but also the other contestants who have so much more recognitions just simply by being part of this years show.
I have much faith in Susan and I think she is going to be just fine. Hopefully she will have a few days down time to recover from all this once the final is over. I feel bad for all of them knowing the entire freaking world is watching and judging and as you said, they are not professionals, and have no experience dealing with all this.
One more day and then it all all be over.

Greetings from California. (It appears there are more comments on Piers’ blogs from the USA than the UK!)
Re the Sin, er…, Sun article yesterday. Where is the proof of Susan’s alleged F bombs? Hotels have security cameras everywhere. Why hasn’t the Sin…oops, the Sun, offered up any video of the “incident?”
Is this the standard for journalism in the UK? Splash whatever garbage they wish with no obligation or expectation of substantiation?
The Sin, [yikes, did it again] uh… Sun, makes our National Inquirer look Nobel prize worthy.

Hello Piers,
Thank you for posting this message regarding the unadmissable behavior that has surfaced. I am a singer songwriter that believes Susan Boyle brought us back down to earth around the world. Our society has dictated what success looks and sounds like for far too long.
How about the real people? How about the fact that thanks to this normal woman, we can all feel connected. Perhaps an anorexic overly botoxed lipsyncing human is what some prefer.
Shame on anyone who feels good about bringing people down.

Nobody in that show sings better than Susan. I have listened to Elaine Paige for many years and still a fan of her and lately have listened to both Susan and Elaine comparatively, I found that Susan sings almost at the same level as Elaine. She sometimes even sings more Elaine Paige than Elaine herself. Both are precious diamonds only one was kept in a closet for over 20+ years. It’d be a great joy to listen to their duet.

Unfortunately we live in a very critical and superficial society, no matter what end of the earth you live on.I enjoy watching the underdog on BGT and showing us what they’ve got. Again, Out of the Park- You know she is reading this don’t you? Someone at the “safe house” has a laptop. It is very common for people to “fall in love” with the boss–and you and simon are bosses in Susan’s mind….Simon is not gentle or darling like you are. So, you have the honor of Ms Boyle seeing you as her “White Knight” - enjoy it. More importantly, make sure SUSAN enjoys it.
She needs the hand held MICROPHONE for a fact- think of the hairbrush she uses for fake singing for pictures- I know, I was a singer, and I used a hairbrush until someone bought me a Karaoke Machine with a real MIC!- hand held, too! I have stood in front of mics also, not the same as having the control to bring it closer or hold it further from the mouth– it helps a LOT
I know it sounds corny, but all you need to do tomorrow night, right before Ms Boyle goes on– even an hour before- is tell her, “Do this for your mum and also do this for me–but most of all, do this for yourself.”
I am older than Susan- by ten years. I recall the mania of the Beatles. Susan is your best mania of the world since the Beatles, and I should know, as I have been there, too. Funny, The Beatles were REALLY cheeky and no one called THEM show offs or Diva’s! and that was in 19-freaking-64!!!!!!!!!

I guess it’s probably too late for this message to get to Susan, but I’ve only just become aware of some of the horrible things being written and said about her. I am a music graduate; my second study was voice and I was taught by a professional opera singer. I have every admiration for Susan, and I think she has a fine voice, which will surely only get better. I understand that she also has Special Educational Needs, which makes the sometimes downright abusive comments she has received all the more deplorable. There have been acts on Britain’s Got Talent that I have thought dreadful, but I wouldn’t go online and write malicious comments about them. If people don’t like Susan’s singing, that’s fine, they’re entitled to their opinion, but to be so cruel to the poor lady (or any of the acts, for that matter) beggars belief. I hope that Susan can muster her courage for the final, and show these bullies that they have not beaten her.

Susan Boyle is a star - a diva. She has inner reserves and a depth of focus rarely seen in these days of technologically enhanced and over-hyped performers.
I believe this image of her as a poor, middle aged, frumpy little soul who needs to be coddled is ludicrous. Susan Boyle’s energy is the engine that is pulling this whole shebang. As many surrounding her in this drama, spin in the whirlwind - Susan Boyle will rise like a phoenix from the ashes of cynicism. She is unstoppable.
As an astrologer, I have been studying the phenomena of Susan Boyle for some time now.
If I had a birth time and place for you Piers - I would do an analysis for you as well. Your destiny has also been hugely altered by this phenomena.

While recovering I would watch and listen to her youtube performance. I wasn’t sure the numbness I was feeling was because of her brilliant singing or the nerve injury I sustained but I finally figure out it was Susan because everytime I heard her sing I got hte goose bumps. When I’m feeling low I listen to her and feel much better, If I knew her she would be a good friend. I want her to know how wonderful she is to me, how she gives me hope and inspiration. If there is any possibility she gets to know this message please let her know she is admired and I am so sorry for the negative treatment she has recieved by some. Please know her is a woman in Seattle Washington USA who admires her more than I can say in an email

Thank you Thank you for watching Susans back. I feel you are a gentleman and Susan has good taste in men. I have to say, what a guy. I am happy you are the one she speaks to, and I am happy you spoke to her when she wanted to leave. Many of us on the susan boyle fan site have great things to say about you.
In all I don’t think you have had anything negative to say. A girl from Colorado who appreciates your qualities.

Piers Morgan,
you have shown to be real and genuine person, one I had never heard here in Australia before Susan Boyle sung. I have watched the show from internet and one of the best parts are comments and reactions from you three judges.
I find you very funny and charismatic person, but mostly I appreciate your way to defend poor Susan. The world is filled with these adults who revert back to school kids picking the ones who are different. I am so happy you are telling with your example how stupid they are! They will never learn, though, but we need more people like you to make this world a bit better place. So in a way, you also have given us a bit of hope. Hope, that there will be someone to defend the defenseless.
Well done!

Perhaps, as in Australia we have not bought into the “woman as plastic doll” syndrome as much as in some other parts of the world, we simply love Susan for the voice, courage and vibrant personality.
There are 3 kinds of people in the world. 1. Those who create beauty. 2. Those who admire beauty. 3. Those who see something wonderful and try to destroy it.
Unfortunately, in this case, the destructos have come out in force, and rational people are appalled at some of the things they are saying. Petty cultural vandals.
Neither Edith Piaf nor Ella Fitzgerald were exactly summer beauties - and wherever they are I am sure they are watching as another joins the ranks of chanteuse extraordinaire.
May God be with you, Susan Boyle, as you bring joy to millions.

I agree, Piers, Susan has already won. She has been a winner in my eyes all along. She is a classy lady and she deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Shame on those who are trying to destroy her dream. I was so happy to hear, today, that she is staying in a safe place, free of the media, until her performance tomorrow. She is no doubt surrounded with people who love and respect her and are looking out for her better interest. It was comforting to her you say that she is in the company of friends and doing fine.
Susan, your fans in the USA love you and we are behind you 100% We know you are going to bring the house down!!!!

I just read Fox News poll on who was better, American Idol winner Kris Allen or Susan Boyle. Susan Boyle got 71% of the vote. Susan, I want you to go out on that stage tomorrow, smiling all the way, and unleash those pipes with everything you’ve got. You are so wonderfully adorable.
I have this way of judging a person’s looks after I have listened to them. How they speak, what they say, and how they say it determines whether someone is attractive to me or not. Susan is well spoken. Everything I heard her say through the internet was appropriate, funny, and humble. Her response to Simon’s apology was an example. She was saying it was over, and it was. She was brilliant, and beautiful. Her dress was perfect. I have never heard anyone whose singing voice brought tears to so many listeners..over and over. She is offering her gift to the world and the world can’t get enough. Those as#@s who are so beyond critical are the biggest losers in the world. It’s like putting out the sun because it lights and warms others. Susan, take them for what they are and no more. We who love you outnumber the idiots by so much, they don’t matter. They are the poop in the street after the horses pass by.(hope you get a chuckle out of that one). The Queen is waiting.

I am so glad Piers took up for Susan. She is a human being and someone who has never been in the limelight. She was picked on as a child and she does not need to be picked on now. I know how it feels. I wear hearing aides and was called four ears and as a child it hurt. Susan has a remarkable talent and the media needs to focus on her talent and not her looks. Susan ,I am proud of you for staying in the game. And I am proud of Piers for thesupport he is giving all the contestants.
I was sure I liked Piers from America’s got Talent but I now have a lot of respect for him.

maybe for the fans in america, you can explain the british press’ need to build up and then destroy the contestants on this show.
i just read an article that blamed the show for exploiting the contestants, especially susan…but it seems to me to be the press who is doing the exploitation.
why is there any hate at all for susan…or for a guy like jamie pugh?
so what if what happened with the little steele girl was all a ruse
in america right now, we face a 24/7 cycle of bad news….once a week, i go to the itv site and then to youtube, and totally forget about the problems i and others face.
and i hate reality shows…but this one is different
i hope susan does alright tomorrow…i hope all the remaining acts do alright
dont really care about the results…

TOU GO SUSAN!! WE ARE ALL SUPPORTING YOU!!
I am a fan of the show. I usuallylove the judges - *ahem*. I am a huge Susan fan - but good lord! What on earth is going on across the pond? The media has gone insane making accusations, getting opinions from psychologists on people they haven’t met!(someone revoke their license) The show is being blamed - and yes there is a degree of culpability here. The shock/trash media is too blame. Now I see the judges, and yes Piers, being blamed! Then 2 teeny tiny little girls cry on stage in front of millions!
Good lord it’s a blood bath! And here I was proud of my British heritage and their civility!
BGT you need a child category for the 15 and under. Period. That is a no brainer after the gut wrenching scenes of those little girls.
Susan go and sing your heart out Girlfriend. Blow the roof off the joint and make the nasty trashy mouthed detractors all slink back to the holes they crawled out from. The rest of the world loves you and is supporting you and believe you me, it isn’t a sympathy vote. It is because you proved you can make dreams come true.
Piers, I just heard you on Larry King with Joy Behar (love that woman) You better go out on that dinner date soon - the entire world (other than those nasty media types) is now her big brother/sister and we will be watching to see you keep your promise.

Piers:
I wrote last night but for some reason my message was not posted. I stated that I have listened to Susan’s performances over and over on You Tube. Everytime I hear her she blesses my soul and spirit.
She is very talented and a beautiful person inside and out. I am rooting for her to win.
I said last night that even if she does not win tomorrow night, she is still a winner. What person could sing and send the world listening to her beautiful songs by the millions. She is also funnny and has a nice personality.
Thank you for defending her. Professional performers have already made it. Susan is not a perfessional person but she has capturedd the whole world by her talent. In my way of looking at this is that she is a perfessional in her own way. No one could have the impact she has had on the world as Susan.
I think she will win, but as I stated before, to me she will always be a winner. She has captured my heart and I love Susan Boyle. I hope that her being on BGT will give her many opportunities to perform all over the world.
She has a beautiful smile and I hope we continue to see her on You Tube and will be able to hear her songs, perhaps even a CD.
Thanks Piers, and the best of luck Susan.

Well done Piers for standing up for Susan. As you say she has already won and has done herself proud.
I think it was Ricky Gervais who once said in Britain we champion the underdog to the point where it’s not an underdog anymore and it annoys us. This is so true for Susan Boyle, but people need to realise all she has done is sing…..the rest of the fame and hype has escalated as a result and she has no control over it. I wish people of Britain were more supportive of people doing well for themselves rather than constantly waiting for them to trip up. I, for one, hope Susan Boyle absolutely blows us away tonight.

You better do your job tonight, Britain, everyone will be waiting. It’s a pity Greg didn’t pass though -I like him lots. But then again, he’s still young and I”m sure he’ll get his chance. Maybe someone has alreay noticed him.

Dear Piers Morgan,
Please give a message to Ms. Susan Boyles.
Ms. Susan takes heart at how many people now live to hear her sing one more lovely song. I have spent a good deal of time this year struggling with healing my Lymphoma - Cancer. The doctors say they can heal this type of Cancer. The difficult part for me has been conquering my fears of visits to doctors, tests, hospitals. Facing allergies to many medicines, all surgical procedures to find the Cancer, because it didn’t show up in any Lymph nodes. I fear treatments. I tremble getting ready to go out. I shake doing small tasks, I am so weak at times.
Ms. Susan, when I heard you sing it was so healing to my spirit, body and soul. If heaven is full of such lovely voices as yours, even just one voice. I can imagine a grand place and I am not so scared to fight with my battle and I want to live. Funny thing…just a Song. Your mother must be bubbling over with glee, being surrounded with angelic music now and to know her girl is turning the World up side down. But this is your time now to share heaven on earth. Be strong, as you have given me and others strength.

Piers,
I really admire and deeply appreciate your
defense of Susan on your blog, in the
newspapers, and on TV interviews.
You are indeed the most chivalrous man
I know. In fact I had thought that chivalry
was truly dead until you emerged.
Also read today in the Mirror that Simon
has said he will protect Susan from the
worldwide attention win or lose.
Please ask Simon to do everything he can
for Susan and her career. If he does,
her fans will do the rest in buying her
music and attending performances.
I deeply appreciate all Simon’s efforts
both past and future for Susan’s well-being
and I believe he has a great heart.
Was it really necessary for Paul Potts to
come out against Susan at this critical
time? Couldn’t he have just kept his
mouth shut! After all, he has benefited
from the attention on Susan also.
Can he say that he has never had one or
two wobbly moments? Wouldn’t he have
been nervous with millions of people
worldwide watching him on the live
stream? He did not have
anything like the attention she is getting
when he performed for his final.
Also read he was very nervous before
his royal performance in 2007. So why
join the jerks who are piling
on Susan?
On the FoxNews poll 57,000 voted and
Susan beat our American Idol Kris Allen
with 71 pct to his 29 pct. Amazing!
Lastly and most importantly, while I do
believe Susan will give a knock-out
performance tonight and will win,
I am slightly concerned
that the British public do not embrace
and appreciate Susan as much as those of
us in America and around the world do, and
if the worst should happen and she doesn’t
come out on top, can someone please be
there IMMEDIATELY to comfort her.
Same goes of course to all the finalists.
They all have dreams and if they lose
their dreams, they should all be given
the maximum support, not just have to
march off the stage alone. It’s sad
to see people go off stage crying alone.
Surely someone could escort them.
Thanks!!

If Simon cowell has any sense he will put shaheem on last as the last act usually gets more votes. Shaheem will make more money for simon than susan or aiden as susan boyle wants to be in a musical (wont make too much money) and aiden is a dancer and the amount of money they can make compared to a worldwide popular singer is uncomparable. And shaheem really does deserve it. If susan was good looking she wouldn’t stand a chance shes good but not great just a plesent supprise cos of how she looks!

It is so nice that Susan is not alone. It seems there is a group of wolves after her. I can not understand it. I live in Finland and I haven´t heard any bad things people talking about her. Everyone understand that huge pressure! I truly, truly hope she can focus for the Final, and don´t care about what some really stupid and bitter people say. What they say is not important, if she just can believe it. Here is, around the world, at least millions of people just waiting the recording she surely will do after this competition. I disagree with micklovin. Susan sings way better than the rest of the contestant. The way the media has been treating Susan is very inhumane and uncivilized. Well, the results are in. It seems that all of the world loves Susan, except for her homeland.
One good thing from the result is that now Susan is well and truly free. She is free of BGT, Simon Cowell, the tabloids and all the heartache she has been suffering. Hopefully she can sign with another label, leaving Syco to try desperately to make money from yet another lame dance act. It’s what they deserve for not protecting a beautiful and fragile woman from the tabloid hell she has been through.
May she even be free of you, Piers, if you don’t care for her as much as you claim. It was easy to see that Susan has feelings for you, and yet you toyed with her emotions. Your support of her over the last week was great, but she might not have been in such turmoil if you had just left her alone. And now that she has lost and may need a friend even more than before, you probably WILL leave her alone because she’s no more use to you.

I never follow any of these shows, I never vote for TV programs, but I did on this occasion. Could somebody please take really good care of her? I feel for her. She did not look well tonight. People have been so mean, and I know she has a fantastic voice and that she has not been able to demonstrate her full worth. I just hope she gets the support she deserves, somebody really caring and loving her. I do not feel anybody has really done this. If she behaves in such an awkward manner is because of her lack of chances. Were people really fearful she would be an embarrassment? I hope in a few months she is not back in her village and forgotten, only a cat to care for, lost in her own mind, thinking what this all meant.

Thank you for supporting Susan up to the end.
Naturally I am devastated that she did not win because I think she did beautifully especially after all she’s been through the last few days and deserved to finish first.
I hope we will hear about her future plans on your blog. I’m sure a lot of other people feel this way.
I have already requested her CD when it comes out on Amazon. In the meantime, I will miss her.

Now, when will you or Simon get her into the recording studio and get that CD out? We –at least over here in the USA–still want Susan!

Thank you for caring as you do for Susan. My life is filled withphysical pain. Susan has made my life so much brighter. I listen to her audition non-stop and was hoping she would win. Regardless of the the outcome she is a winner to me and for me. Thank you for being so kind to her–we all need a friend.
Take care and thank you again!

It can be that Susan was not gaining BGT’s final, but she’s and she will be always a real queen. Her way of praising the winners of the contest, speech of her great humility and simplicity. Do not be, it is only an appraisal, but it seemed to me that Susan was obvious relieved of not being she who was winning. Mexico loves you Susan, you are THE BEST

For all of you who thought it was a fore gone conclusion that she would win and indeed you Piers who should have remained unbiased, it just goes to show that nothing in this life is guaranteed. I’m glad she lost. I dont like her at all. She has a good voice but her personality lets it down.

I have signed up for her first cd and I hope we get to see and hear
more from her .
She is a lovely lady ! I’m looking forward to seeing her sing more. Susan brought me to BGT.She is the only one I wanted to see. I have no use for this show ,its not a talent show but a comedy show. Susan was the only serious talent. I mean kids crying all over the place, second chances ect. I will follow Susan’s career now. Thank you for showcasing Susan’s Talent . She may have lost BGT but she won over the world. She is the true winner, she is #1

Dear Piers,
I was able to see the show via a feed from the UK. Thank God, I’ve been waiting to see the end of this year’s show. Susan rocks still, she looked so strained from that madness they inflicted on her this week but she saw it through to the end, they can’t stop her… can they? She looked like they took all the joy she felt about the whole thing out of her and you ‘Piersy baby’
put that joy back into her tonight you rock too Piers, when you supported her so totally I said to myself ‘WOW’ you are the man! she was totally blown away by your show of love and couldn’t even respond with her usual quick replies. You got it at the end though didn’t you? saw the kiss she blew your way and the skirt lift for you alone.
Love how graciously she congratulated the other winners, and the fact that so many people voted for her to be first runner up. They know how great she is and how much she has done for your country by being the wonderful human being she is. Love her!!
That irrepressible personality of hers is joyous to behold she will try to control it for you though, because she loves & trusts you and knows that you have her best interests at heart. See how they can depress her and she will go into herself and possibly stay there, I saw tonight how you were able to lift her spirits snd bring her smile back thank you again Piers.
All the talk of love simon extended, and believe me he has been trying, is not working, she has eyes only for you. Thank God Almighty!.
I wish you both all the best that the future holds for you. Awaiting her recordings, so Susan forget the haters and go forth and conquer! Your fans are right here supporting you along with your Piers.
You have very good taste in men you were right on about him at your audition, he’s everything you said he was and more. God has given you very good insight into people and He will continue to enable you to assess them correctly.I had my doubts about Piers at the outset because of the crowd he works with, shallow people, but he has stepped up wonderfully well and maybe he can see them through your eyes now and thank God for the revelation before it got too late.
May Almighty God Bless you both richly with His Wisdom and Love every day now & always, your Mum is very happy for her treasure (you) in case you wonder who I’am speaking about, since you are so humble. It’s part of what is so endearing about you.
I am off to find your videos of tonight’s show so that I can look at them again & again, until you produce your recordings for us to buy. We are waiting patiently but don’t take too long please..
A big fan Sandra. xxxx
PS: Love pebbles colour, I like the white & gold cats myself, also the light gray ones. The song on youtube about her is funny hope you had a laugh about it too,but we know you take excellent care of her. Love, your fan Sandra. Please pass along to Susan, thank you Piers.

Hi Piers, I’ve watched Susan Boyle’s video singing I Dreamed a Dream many times. Each time, my hair stands, it’s really incredible to hear her lovely voice. She had swept the world by storm. I just wish that media and critics will back off from her. But that is because she was so famous. It was a painful truth that there are people riding on her popularity, good or bad. I admired you for being a true and honest gentleman.

Piers, I have new appreciation for you and the noble way you have come to Susan Boyle’s well deserved defense. I am heart-sick since she did not win…Nevertheless Susan is a breath of fresh air and will do just fine regardless…
I will never understand why people in this world work at breaking ones spirit…The reason why the public is in love her is because we have looked beyond what is visible. When you take a further look at people you can see the beauty in their souls…Opportunity can always make us look better, but there is no makeover for the heart and ones spirit, you either have it or you don’t…Susan’s gifts were brought to the forefront for us to enjoy…Best to her, lucky us…
Best to you too Piers and thanks for looking out for Susan…I hope you continue to be a friend to her in a not so kind world; she will need you to survive it all….
If you were standing in front of me a give you a smacker too!!!!!

Diversity is very good and I’m happy for them. But you were right when you said that that was the best act in three years. Paul Potts represents British talent to the world very well, but I believe Susan Boyle will outperform him. She is just diva in her own division and she would fill up Las Vegas and other cities every single night. I love her singing.
By the way, it’s seems to me that Amanda has a little problem with Susan.

With shame I accept that I come from a country in which the corruption reigns and as such, me it is not difficult to imagine the tempting thing that should have been for the mafia the fact that in the places of bets, they were in favor of Susan 75 %. Someone in Great Britain won very much, but a lot of money with this Susan’s second place. Lamentable, but I must say it and clarify that with this I do not try to offend the Britishers, since generally persons of a nationality do not integrate the mafia especially, we might of saying that the mafia in an etnia, not a country or nationality. CNN did a piece with several professionals, including a psychologist, who said that it was better for Susan not to win BGT. She is an expert in celebrity and the pressure that comes with it and she thought that Susan is going to be a big star whether she won or not, but, it was her expert opinion that she could better start her career with out the pressure of winning - indeed, Susan seemed relieved that she came in second.
Personally, like millions around the world, I love Susan and can’t wait to buy her records the moment they come out!

her personality lyn? you mean the one where she has a joke or two, can be a little inappropriate by saying what she thinks, or can be goaded after years of bullying into losing her temper? That part? the part that is absolutely typical of mildly brain damaged people?
I think it says far more about your personality that you would insult someone for doing nothing more than working as hard as she can to get her dream DESPITE the mild brain damage from birth. That brain damage that had her called “simple susie” at school, and had kids ringing her door bell over and over shouting names at her until she lost her temper.
Everyone in life has limitations. Clearly yours are empathy and compassion. Just like Susan, your lack of both should not rule out your being a success. It does however rule you out of joining the part of the world who care about those who need a little extra understanding.

Now your face is all over the world because of Susan. You people should have protected her more from the trash rag newspapers.

Thank you for you’re calm and level-headed comments. I just love Susan Boyle and am thrilled that she has made this impact. I, for one, will be first in line to buy a CD she makes. I am a musician and truly know what she does when she sings. There are few people who can #1 sing on key, and #2 do it with the passion and feeling that she has.
She is number 1 in my book. I did like the dance group Diversity, but not as much as Susan.
God bless, can’t wait for America’s Got Talent.

Dear Piers - and Amanda and Simon, despite Susan not being 1st in the BGT Finals, so many were winners. Above all, of course Susan, because she proved the detractors wrong. What a performance. And what a true gentleman Piers Morgan proved to be - to her, to us all. Your tribute was touching. It was worth more to Susan in my view than a qet. And a silver lining … as you say in your blog, she is going to have success whether she won or not. But right next to her, Dynasty. This group of lads as Susan called them (thank you Susan for your graciousness) have got their chance too. They got the money and the fabulous prospects. Their lives have changed too. Despite the iodiocies about BGT in the newspapers, the brickbats, the accusations, Britain’s Got Talent benefited so many tonight. It’s a wonderful show. I wish we could have seen it in the USA. You three are a blessing for all who seek good TV, entertainment, and - yes - class! Hurray tonight for Susan, Dynasty, Simon, you, and Amanda (take it from a much older lady, you are gorgeous in anyone’s book, loved your dress).Everyone’s a win. Despite the tears. The little girl is a little too young to learn that someone has to lose the win, but has had a chance to showcase his or her talent. As for Stavros Flately - Nen Nen Nen, you guys are fabulous. Thank you Britain’s Got Talent - you all “get it” - big time. Bravo Susan. Your dream is here. Enjoy it. Love to all you good folks, Audrey.

Congratulations to Diversity, an extremely talented group with a genius choreographer.
But even greater congratulations to Susan Boyle a true champion in her defeat of adversity and prejudice. A women of incredible talent and fortitude who showed us all and taught many of us a valuable lesson.
She herself epitomizes the meaning of diversity, for she by herself brought together various peoples and cultures from the four corners of the globe. Susan raised the spirits of literally tens of millions of us.
I am sure that her future is bright as millions of us impatiently await her debut album and many more of us would love to see her perform on the West End or Broadway.
Susan’s dream has come true. Here’s hoping that my dream comes true and I have the privilege of seeing her talent in person some day.
Susan has become an Ambassador of hope and perseverance for many of us. I sincerely hope that the Queen quite shortly meets this Ambassador of now the entire world,
Congratulations Diversity, but Susan you have my undying admiration.

I’d like to ps poster “Lyn Kirk.” Here’s to you, too, Lyn, I am one who wouldn’t express myself so mean-spiritedly or satisfaction at a loss, even if it were you involved. Get this. This week there have been several “losses.” My great team Manchester United didn’t win the Champions League match in Rome. But guess what, Barcelona got the trophy. They wanted it, they deserved it, and after all, ManU got it last time. Meanwhile over at Wembley, where ManU usually carries off the FA Cup, winning always, almost monotonously, Chelsea got their chance, they needed it and deserved it. Over at Buckingham Palace, the Queen is undoubtedly saddened that she cannot go to France for the D-Day 65th event. But in France, President Sarkozy badly needs the lift to his image that President Obama’s presence will give him. Without being overshadowed by a great lady. The veterans will know she’s with them in spirit. Now the whole world is aware of D-Day all over again because of all the negative press. And despite your negative press here, Lyn Kirk, Susan really has benefited from all the newspaper coverage, bad though some has been. People who never heard of her (are there any?) certainly know about her now. She is a winner, Lyn, if only because here graciousness toward the Dynasty lads was so heart-warming. All in all, these past days have been winning days for many. Even those who lost walk tall … Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo, in Rome; all the wonderful participants in BGT, and the Queen - because everyone worldwide now knows she deserves to be in France next weekend because she earned it during the war years, doing her bit. And speaking of the Queen, you know what Lyn, I do believe that Susan has sung before her, because I cannot imagine that the Queen was not intrigued by what she read of Susan Boyle. After all, she watched Hamilton, the Formula One winner and Susan is a Scot, as was the Queen’s mother, Elizabeth Beau-Lyons. Scots wahay! Lyn, lighten up if only because it makes life easier - and wonderful. A.

Dear Piers,
I just got the video of Susan’s performance on YouTube, I am going to be very straight with you. Since that is what you are about per your blog. What does the action she took with her hands to her face & head to you does it mean that she thinks you betrayed her?It looked like she made a cutting motion with her hand to her neck.Does she know how much you have defended her all along? has someone been filling her with doubts? I hope that I am wrong in my understanding of it. Please let me know my email address in on your site. I feel like she is my sister & I am compelled to write to you on her behalf.
I still have to see the results of the show they have not posted it yet.I want to see her reaction to you again re: the kiss and the show of legs.
She looked so hurt and upset my heart bleeds for her.Why are people so CRUEL? she came to you all happy and ready to share her talent with everyone wholeheartedly and it’s looks like the show almost destroyed her.
Piers do see what horrible people you are working with? simom 7 amanda are mean spirited she looked happy to see Susan so upset while singing, all because you cared for Susan and showed it for all to see. She wants you to herself and I hope that you do not fall for it; simon is mad because Susan does not want him in a romantic way and she showed it to all his ego can’t stand it. amanda just pays lip service to Susan ‘oh simom had a tear in his eye’ she wants Sue to think that he cares and you don’t.Watch the video for yourself, she’s totally false. The comments she has made about Sue’s future career bears it out.
In my previous comment I said read between the lines ,this is what I meant those two are cruel, if they can’t have things their own way, they will do their best to hurt the person involved.
They were both condescending towards Sue at the show pretending to be sympathetic to her ordeal but they weren’t, just congratulating themselves on making things harder for her , go back to Blackburn and take care of your cat etc. in so many words.
I hope that I am not wrong about you Piers and that you truly love Susan, you have worked in that environment for many years as you have said search your heart and see if what I am saying isn’t the truth. Look at that man from years ago and the horrid one you told to pick on you rather than Susan, they try to tear people down and laugh at them, is that what you want to be known as in the future? it will happen if you continue in the company you are in at this time. Search your heart and see yourself a few years ahead, what do you see?
Susan is so trusting and so hurt right now that she thinks their words were genuine and that they are so concerned for her that’s why she smiled with them, I hope she does not sign a contract with simon he will not be fair to her.Look at the poll on aol re: The way we feel here in the USA about Susan, she is welcome now and we will buy her recordings pronto, she just has to record and they are sold. we love her and feel that she was treated really badly by the press in the UK. We are not perfect here but by God I hope that we will give her a fair deal.
Hope that you are genuine Piers and will go to Susan and explain yourself to her ,she will forgive you remember that she does not use a computer and has said so many times, so maybe she really does not know that you have been doing battle for her. Where are her brothers & sisters?
Who was there to give her the support she needed so badly for the past few days? I saw a comment about one of her brother’s comments to the papers, my God do they not realise that she is a grown woman? and treat her as such? She tried to follow her dream and the cruel people just shot her down again, how much can one person take? Please, please go to her and try to help her even if she is angry at first beg her to listen to you and don’t take no for an answer she needs you more than anyone else right now. Otherwise i think that she might run back home and go into a deep depression for a long time. She’s strong yes but she is not made of stone, she’s human like the rest of us and very fragile. She deserves a lot better than BGT gave, you have shown yourself to be an upstanding guy through all of this and I would like you to continue being that kind of person, see how we all appreciated your finer qualities? Please go forward and not back to the cesspit that chews decent people up & spits them out. Be Susan’s champion, her family is not able to fight in your world so stand up for her and get her here to us where she will be loved. She can just stay as long as she wants to and return home where she feels secure.A plane ride is all it takes, to go back & forth.
Thank you again for telling her she is your favourite no matter what and I do hope that you really mean it, also please try to release yourself from the false people around you they will only bring you down with them in the end. You can do better.Manage Susan’s career exclusively and don’t let anyone steal her blind or take advantage of her in any way and you will do very well indeed.Financialy and otherwise, you will be a happier person believe me.Isn’t there a book, film, parts in shows, singing etc.Just go for it!
This is written in the hope that you are awake and will read your comments,I hate seeing people being taken advantage of and we can do what ever we can to make things better to the best of our ability.
So here’s hoping it’ll change as Susan said all those weeks ago, before the world disrupted her life and she dealt with it very graciously indeed.
Hope her belief in the goodness of her fellow human beings is not in vain, and she kept on hoping in spite of past trials, forgave people and looked forward to happier times, May Almighty God show her, in you that it has been worth it.
A fan of Susan’s counting on you to step up and continue the battle, fight the good fight. Bless you. Sandra.

Dear Piers,
Thank you for standing up for Susan in the finals tonight. I think she really needed that.
Susan was the real winner. She won over all of the other singers. And she was gracious to Diversity when they won first place. I never saw one of that group congratulate Susan for winning second place. I think that speaks for itself.
I know that Susan will be coming to America. We love her over here and will welcome her with wide open arms. I have heard the Queen is interested in Susan also , by someone who should know and I hope Susan will receive her own personal invitation to sing before the Queen. I realize CD’s, a movie of Susan’s life, singing appearances and a recording contract is in the works by interested people such as Simon and others as the world dearly loves this woman.
I guess the one exception would be the press. In saying that I find it absolutely disgusting how the media places people on a pedestal and builds them up to turn right around and destroy every thing about them and enjoy doing it. I do blame BGT for not providing more protection for Susan since they knew of her learning disability. Susan looked like it was a relief when Diversity won.
I belong to a Susan Boyle Fan Club 20,000 strong. We love Susan. There are several more Susan Boyle fan clubs other than the one I belong to. We will continue to support Susan any way we can. Susan has a incredible voice that grabs people. She has tone, quality and great range of voice. My only wish would have been that BGT would have beem less restrictive with Susan and let her sing the way she did at her audition. She went out to rock people at the audition and I never saw that glow afterwards. What a pity.
I hope Piers that you will continue to speak out for Susan in the days to come and try to defend her from the rubbish of the British and Anmerican media that will tear her apart if they can. Susan deserves better as her only desire is to sing for the world and do it in memory of her Mum. I hope she can do that with keeping the press in check.
Piers, I know that Simon is beginning a major entertainment blitz with Susan. I would suggest from Susan Boyle fans that he keeps Susan’s best interests at heart or he will answer to her fans. How do I know ? Because they have told me so.

I still have to say, that horrible “horwood man” is only a moderate ability and that is why everything is all over for him. He is not good enough and now he is too old too! But you are a wonderful talent and you have the future ahead, Susan! We all (the big audience!) love you! I´am 47 years old. You give me so much hope. Now I feel that I´m not too old to change my life. Because this 47 is for some reason the number, when women start to feel they are not good enough, and they are too old for a new cases. You just broke that bad magic!!! Thank you for that!

I have never been so disgusted in all my life. I can see through all this feigned sensitivity to Susan Boyle. I totally see through it. BGT cannot fool everyone. My heart broke as I watched Susan standing there on stage with her mind and spirit so completely broken before she ever sang a note. The way she was mishandled by this show is a disgrace. The guilt and shame was all over the judges faces, their fake comments couldn’t hide the horror that was on their faces as they witnessed Susan’s mental state. I want nothing else to do ever again with anyone who worked on this show. My heart and prayers go out to Susan, I pray that she will find the right people now to help her go forward with her professional singing career. I’m sorry we have to share the planet with the huge numbers of heartless people living in Great Britain.

just reading his writing .
While he is a judge of the show, he is keeping

Craig Revel Horwood is a nasty little peice of work. I despair at the unkindness of people. I despair at the media who will knock people down without thought - and they will do it to their own as well. Piers you are a breath of fresh air for your kindness to Susan. People with learning difficulties always have a creative and talented side to them, they think with pictures as opposed to words - John Lennon had reading difficulties! Susan, I wish you all the very very best in your newe career.

Piers,
It was great to see you being so supportive of Susan, especially the kindness you showed her after she sung at the finals.
Since I wanted her to win all along, I was disappointed, when I first heard she made second place instead, but after watching her reaction, I got the impression she was somewhat relieved. It’s understandable given the pressure she has been under in recent weeks.
The tabloid journalists have been especially cruel, swarming over her like vultures, taunting her so that they could get the sort of reaction they were hoping to provoke. Unfortunately, she had a crash course on the more ugly side of fame. I am sure for the time being she is happy to escape it all, and get back to her village and her cat, and just chill for a while.
I do however believe that she has a wonderful career ahead of her, and many incredible offers are bound to come her way. She is still every inch a winner in my book.

I just read that Mr. Horwood said about singer Susan Boyle - “She sings as bad as she looks”.
A profound statement indeed.
Funny? No.
Informative? No.
Fair? No.
True? No.
Grammatically correct? No.
Full of vitriol? Yes.
Does he judge the quality of a person on how he/she looks? Has he ever heard of Stephen Hawking?
Seeing that he doesn’t even grasp the function of an adverb (’badly’), I doubt it.
Oh and one final question? Does he think that he’s good-looking? I wouldn’t be too sure about that one either.

I am from a small town in California, so - I don’t know, but can only imagine what Susan went through for the show to go on. In my mind Susan is a winner; I have a book that is maybe out of print now, titled: “Winners are not those who never fail; Winners are those who Never Quit” (by E.L. Cole) and Susan is a winner! Beause she did not quit, I have heard her and I love hearing her and watching her perform. It is her time, now.
I am looking forward to buying her CD’s, DVD’s, supporting her because I really like her talent and story. I look forward to possibly seeing her perform in a live concert.
I hope Susan gets to see the positive comments and I will pray for her Faith to be strong.
thanks for the avenue to say a word,

The more I think about all this, the more puzzled I become. Because of the age of the internet, we were able to go to justin.tv and watch Britain’s Got Talent live as it was happening. It was a lot of people’s first time glimpse of the Brits in their own environment. Granted, it’s television and we have to take tv with a grain of salt. Reality tv or not, it’s still tv. People over here are saying “Well you know how the Brits are. They value youth and beauty and they are also a cold bunch.” I didn’t think it was right to lump an entire group together, but I do have to wonder.
Regarding Susan, it runs deeper than just how well she can sing. She was the child who was mocked in school. She was alone in her room listening to music because music was all she had. She had no friends growing up. She had a learning disability. She is socially awkward. She represented everyone who was ever made fun of. All these reasons are why the US loved her so much. We could feel what she went through and wanted to see her beat the odds. We wanted her to finally have her day as Cinderella at the ball. I am puzzled as to how the Brits didn’t have the empathy and compassion to feel all that. People should have banned together to help her make her dream come true. It says a lot when they value a bunch of young and handsome male dancers over a woman who represented so much.
Piers, you were in the minority. You are a true treasure. It showed in your expressions and deep in your eyes that you felt what we in the US felt. You shined with empathy and compassion right up until the end. You were fair with everyone. You gave your compliments and praise to everyone who deserved it. But you stood your ground and conveyed the message that Susan represented a lot more than a woman who could sing.

Susan looked like her spirit was broken when she started to sing. As the final results were to be announced, she appeared to be trembling; I couldn’t read whether the look on her face was sheer terror that she might actually win, or pure determination that she wanted desperately to win. She was gracious in “defeat” and showed her sense of humor on her way off stage. Was she, in fact, secretly delighted she didn’t win? Hard to really know. AFter the abuse of the last several weeks from her own country, I would not be surprised.
BGT crafted its own agenda for Susan. They discovered her, exploited her, and allowed her to be fed to the wolves. I guess that means in the final analysis, they determined perhaps they made a mistake in catapulting her to instant stardom….
We’ll never know, will we.
Best of everything to you, dear Susan. The USA loves you and you won in our hearts.

In the end I think Susan Boyle did win! From the very beginning Susan said that she wanted to:
1 Become a professional singer by overcoming the shyness, fears, & challenges to make her dream a reality
2 Most important for Susan, to make her mother proud
I think she is a very courageous woman to endure all she has in an attempt to make her dream come true. I would imagine she didn’t have a clue about the exposure this would be for her, who would!
If she lost her cool with the paparazzi, so what. I could imagine myself doing the same thing under that kind of pressure. We all know how the paparazzi can provoke and attack celebrities and stars. That would be an enormous amount of pressure on an unknown person. How would you deal with it?
I think when they announced the winner, you could see a sigh of relief in her facial expression. She may not have been able to handle all of the pressure. I am somewhat glad that she didn’t win and possibly lose the innocence that we all grew to love. After all, she just wants to have a singing career. Perhaps she doesn’t want a stage career. She just might be quite happy with a recording career.
I wish her the best of luck and hope her dream does come true!
The USA loves Susan!!!

Its’ had such a huge impact on millions of people all over the world and her loss last night to Diversity is an emotional one. People felt connected to Susan and love and adore her so much that it’ll spurn millions more to express their support for her now more than when she first became an international star. I really think that this show brought out the worst in so many people. Those in the audience who booed Susan Boyle and 2Grand should be absoutely ashamed of themselves. If they didn’t enjoy the entertainment that these performers gave, they didn’t have to clap, but there was no reason for them to be so rude. It takes a lot of courage to get up on stage and perform in front of such a large audience. Those who booed are nothing but cowards. And the media should be ashamed of themselves as well for the way they treated Ms.Boyle.
I enjoyed the performances of both 2Grand and Susan Boyle. I hope that none of them pay any attention to the ignorance and hatred of some of the public and press.

Piers, what happened to Susan Boyle this week was inhumane and downright evil….the media were totally offside in this one, picking Susan apart publicly and literally, ruining her chances of winning Britain’s Got Talent 2009. She was obviously the most polished performer of all of them and while there was a great deal of talent in various genres, Susan was the best, as you personally have said. What is unfortunate is that the show does not have category winners because how can one ever say that a group of dancers is better then a singer or visa versa? I agree wholeheartedly with you that Susan should have won and also that she will have an album out soon. Diversity will perform for the Queen but we shall never hear of them ever again. We will hear a great deal of Susan Boyle!

I just can’t resist adding another comment after reading most of the comments here. First of all, it is truly uplifting to see how so many rallied to the side of this wonderful, sweet lady, Susan, championed her incredible voice, shared her dreams, dreamed on for her. Thank you all you generous-spirited people from all over the world. From Britain, too. It was NOT the Brits who turned on Susan, it was the news media. Don’t we all in the USA know a lot about that? Image breakers, some of them; not all. It was almost inevitable that they would turn negative if only to sell newspapers. I’m just writing that to comment on a poster who upbraided the Brits as turncoats. They are not, were not, and didn’t you here that loud and clear reception when Susan sang “I dreamed a dream”? She turned that negative situation around beautifully. Just by being herself, and singing only the way she can sing. Congrats Susan, you shut them all up when you opened your mouth and sheer beauty flowed out of it. What a performance!
Talk about turning the tide, Susan truly got her chance to prove all the naysayers so wrong. It was great to see Piers practically jumping up and down on that. I thought the rendition was better than her first. She gets better as she goes along. Once she ge ts confident in this new area of experience, as Paul Potts has, she’ll be an even greater sensation. I sure hope those negative commenters get their come uppance when they realize that. We, of course, do.
This show is truly wonderful Simon, Piers, Amanda. It is entertaining and comes up with so many “stun factors.” Paul Potts who did not at first blush seem to be an opera singer. Then Stavros Flately, the man and the boy, whose introduction seemed to herald another disaster. Then, pure entertainment. I think it is the unknown which intrigues about this show. Not knowing what act or who is going to walk onto the stage and take us all by surprise. But isn’t that what hidden, undiscovered talent, is all about. It is what Diversity is all about. A bunch of young people dancing on the streets of London, with a young choreographer heading them all for greatness. Really, it is inspiring.
In my view …. Susan did NOT lose - the contest? maybe? But weeks before she made her mark. I know she must be finally realizing that. On the other hand, Diversity seemed destined for obscurity. How great it was to see the shock on their faces, their tears. That money will benefit these young people, and their star is beginning to rise. I am sure that Susan is delighted about that, recognizing what it felt like when she walked onto the stage to establish who she really is. What is loss after all? And by whose definition? If Susan sustained a loss, I surely would like to change places with her and experience what she did. It is a miracle. This great voice is out there now - like a genie let out of the bottle - here to stay. Sorry, Pebbles, you’ve got to learn to share.
May 30, 2009, for me will stay in my memory. I shall look for news of Susan here, there, and everywhere - but find time for Pebbles, Susan. He was in your corner long before …
Good wishes to all who wrote on here. And special good wishes to Amanda, Piers, and Simon. You should know how much pleasure you bring to so many.
Cheers.

IN DEFENCE OF PIERS MORGAN - and Amanda and Simon:
Sandra, Sandra, Sandra - I’ve got to add this comment for you. Back off. Lighten up. Have done with the psychological analysis. Please. You feel as though you are Susan’s sister? You are not. Get real. Be careful what you say believing it to be on her behalf. She speaks for herself. She did last night. Be careful what you analyze about others, you could be describing yourself, projecting.
PIERS: Far from insincere, apologizing for a betrayal, Sandra my girl, Piers Morgan was faithful in his support of her. AMANDA: Far from being mean-spirited, Amanda is delightul to watch because her sincerity shines through. It did last night. Her expressions mirror her thoughts, her true reaction. Very sincere indeed. SIMON: And now to Simon, Sandra. Are you another of these naysayers who spend their waking moments analyzing others and finding them coming up wanting? Get a grip. Simon is forthright and direct. That’s his style. He doesn’t deny it. He makes no apologies for it. Why not? Because he is true to the concept of the show. Because like it or not, contenders appearing on this show know what to expect: If they have talent, they are on, if they don’t, they’d better get off the stage. And let’s face it, there have been and will be again, many contenders strolling onto the stage with self-delusion emerging as soon as they begin their act. It’s all part of the show, it is no doubt wearying having to sit through some painful minutes before hitting the button in a reality check. That’s the show. You know, Sandra, the old adage is: If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Or off the stage as the case may be.
The end result is what counts Sandra. For Susan, total validation of what she possesses - what it takes to be the professional singer she dreamed of being. For Amanda and Piers - the opportunity to show unbridled appreciation of a contender. And Simon, the chance to show the world that yes, Britain’s Got Talent IS the best of this genre. Idol - you’ve got to do better. We who live in the USA will accept nothing less.

Joebloggs says
Susan Boyles’ strained health now in the news means the public, journalists and the industry really need to cut her slack and realise that to enable her talent to flourish, she needs to be able to do it at her own pace and in a way that suits her personality, without the treadmill pressures that could harm and without the unnecessarily malicious backlash. If sectioned under the mental health act & at a private clinic for celebs, its not quite some celeb burnout as tackily portrayed by some, its the much bigger picture here. Newpapers, wake up. This is not so much some diva with tantrums as some depict, though everyone is susceptible to behaving badly, if under stress, but a lady overcoming huge personal obstacles, not just those of being thrust into the worlds unprecendented limelight, but for her, in what just may be lifelong deficits of attention, memory, emotional and social functioning - aspects of learning difficulties/ brain damage. In Britain let’s be proud & celebrate someone trying to fulfill their personal potential despite the real health limitations and guess what, somehow getting there big time. Her life is an achievement, and she needs to be cherished, and at times coseted, not villified or mocked because what she is trying to do is remarkable - and why not, shes got the talent? We have been party to a miracle in the past several weeks because a woman with some serious difficulties but great aspirations and a gift beyond her singing, herself, a total inspiration, has achieved unprecedented success and broken world records. The Susan Boyle phenomena is not to be taken for granted, its outstanding. She needs time to adjust and the public and media need to adjust to that kind of person, usually marginalised in society instead of feted. She is a breakthough, bless her. I respect her so much for what she has achieved in the the last few weeks alone. It looks like her personal and professional journey has been an amazing mountain climb to fulfill her potential. We have no idea the path she treads and what its like, she does such a great job of puting her best foot forward and trying to be her best. I am totally inspired. ANd I was not a fan till I got it, now I just wish her well.

Piers, I want to say thank you for all you have done for Susan Boyle, especially for speaking up for her when the press were pulling her to pieces. She seems a lovely lady, with a wonderful singing voice. Watching the clip of her singing Memory about halfway through when just music was playing she smiled and slightly bowed her head, which brought tears to my eyes. Such a humble, gentle person who does not deserve the treatment she has had over this last week or so from the press. I am so sad to hear that she is unwell at the moment. Please look after her and reassure her that it doesn’t matter that she came second, we all still love her and can’t wait for her CD to come out. She has touched so many hearts all over the world and I for one just want to see her happy and doing what she so dearly wants to do - sing. Dear Piers,
When I watched Susan’s performance yesterday, she did not look well at all and I sensed that something was terribly wrong. I could see how very fragile and emotionally drained she was from the horrendous ordeal she went through this past week. It was as though she had been to hell and back and her face said it all.
Now that the BGT is over, I hope she is not left hanging with no one to provide the emotional support she needs to get her through the challenges that lies ahead. Are you that person Piers….the one who can guide and give Susan the emotional stability she needs right now? I sincerely hope so…You’ve demonstrated so much empathy towards her in a very sensitive and caring way because I believe you care about what happens to her and for her well-being. I think that you more than anyone else could be a tremendous help…All she needs right now is someone who understands her…someone she can genuinely trust. Please go to her and tell her how much you care about her…that you will be there for her no matter what happens.
We all heard the sad news today about Susan’s hospitalization and we are all praying for her complete recovery and that God will give her the strength to endure the days ahead.

Thank goodness there is someone who values pure talent such as Susan Boyle has, thank you Piers for being the good soul that you obviously are and sticking up Susan She may not have won Britains Got Talent but she won a million peoples hearts and that in my eyes is the real winner at the end of the day. We have to tolerate Craig Revile Harwood here on Dancing With the Stars in New Zealand and hes just such a…twat…a non talented twat at that.
Take a break Susan, rest well, but we all want you back sharing that beautiful voice ..but just when you are ready

“The sheer level of abuse she’s getting continues to shock and appall me. Only yesterday, Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood said she ’sings as bad as she looks.’ He called her ‘awful’, and said he ‘wanted to smash the TV’ after her semi-final.”
This part shocked me !!! I’m like.. so angry right now. I have so many replies I could throw in front of that .. person. Too bad that I never ever heard of him. Is this probably the reason why he said that? Is the poor baby lacking attention? He surely did his homework and learned that scandal always makes the front page. Oh, wow! He insulted Susan hoping that the world will learn about him? Hoping that he will be known at least as the “guy who insulted Susan Boyle ” ? That was so mature!!! As Susan would say: “This milk bottle/pacifier is for you, baby!” Now stop crying!
After reading the comment I would also tell that guy that I can feel it too. I really want to smash the TV right now! There’s just an additional thing in my case: I would smash it alright, but on his head! [Sorry for the comment.. I know it sounds violent, but that's how I feel right now]

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood is un-educated man. He is an evil, he is mad. How dare he made such comment on someone’s appearance. He forgot that we as human is a creation of our Almighty God in His image. Everyone has their own plus point. Craig is just an evil who can be seen with our eyes. Susan such a great women.. Through her beautiful voice, we have been reminded to be grateful to Lord our God, the Creator of all of us. Piers is right, her voice represents voice of an angel. Susan, please relax when you are facing those no manners people. they are childish, their heart full with hatred, they live in dark life. They have no love.
I pray for you.. for your future. God has prepared your future beautifully. Please don’t get mad or get angry easily. Calm and relax.. like your first time appearance on BGT. I love you deeply…. God bless you always!!
