The guests so far have been Sharon Osborne, Sheila Hancock, Richard Branson, Ulrika Jonsson, Katie Price and Richard Madeley and we caught up with Piers after the first series finished filming to find out his hopes for the second series. Click on the video below to find out his thoughts on who the guests maybe.

For sure SUSAN BOYLE- Piers knows her and she would open up to him and they could have a lot of laughs- there also is a “chemistry” between Piers and Miss Boyle that would be fascinating TV

Piers,
how about Amanda Holden- the whole Les Dennis thing would love to know about, Jonathan Ross- but hed never do it, Gordon Ramsey, Alistair Campbell- would pay to see that one.

Gabriela says
Dear Mr Morgan
Although I live in Switzerland, I guess I will be able to watch your interviews on YouTube (as I have seen your show with Sharon Osbourne). Gordon Ramsey, Les Dennis??? Does one need to know them abroad??? Anyway, here are my suggestions:
Being a Beatles fanatic I would love you to interview Ringo Starr (then he could properly explain his strange refusal to sign autographs).
June 29, 2009 at 5:29 pm
Gabriela says
Upps, pressed the wrong button …
As I said, being a Beatles fanatic, of couse there has to be Sir Paul McCartney as well. What a challenge to find a question that this man hasn’t heard before …
When it comes to female stars, I would be interested in Catherine Zeta-Jones.
And of course my favourite Susan Boyle. But please without the audience as this would intimidate her too much, I guess. Just Mr Morgan, her and the camera, then she would feel comfortable and open up. Yes, this interview would be absolutely great!
June 29, 2009 at 5:30 pm

Piers,
I absolutely love your chat show. Please, please interview Susan Boyle! She would be honoured to be one of your guests and I’m sure you know how thrilled we would be to hear her life story.

Oh definitely Simon Cowell!! Or Stephen Fry…or Prince Harry or Joanna Lumley or Tilda Swinton or Derren Brown or maybe Susan Boyle! But I’m sure you’ll pick the right people! Looking forward to it.

Would love to see Piers interview Susan Boyle after the BGT tour is finished. She hasn’t done an interview in some time and it would be great.
It would be great to hear what her thoughts are on the aftermath of BGT and the tour shows - how she found performing to so many large audiences. And Piers is the best person to do an interview because he would be fair with her.
June 29, 2009 at 7:14 pm

Piers, Please do Susan Boyle,….interview her. She has lots of fans. Please please

If you don’t manage to piss off Susan Boyle (”share half the profits of the album sales heading your way”), then I would love to see you interview her. I’d love to hear, straight from her, what HER experience of the whole affair is — of course, living in the US, I’d appreciate it if you would put the entire interview on this website!!
June 29, 2009 at 11:07 pm
Mary Jo says
Mr. Morgan,
Glad to see you return to your site. We’ve missed you. Susan Boyle would seem a most appropriate candidate; she fits the criteria you’ve laid out.
Since she has not had a live interview since the BGT finals, this would be a great opportunity for your show & in her interest. Many of her interviewers, including Oprah, have asked inane questions. I think yours would be insightful, while treating her with respect and kindness.
June 30, 2009 at 12:11 am
Laura says
Definitely SUSAN BOYLE, who is defintely the People’s Singer and much loved!!! There is such a good rapport between Piers and Susan that I think would make for great entertainment.

Good luck in your up-coming ratings battle, it should be an interesting fight for us media obsessed types to observe, may the best man win, or at least earn substantial libel damages in the High Court!
As for suitable subjects for interview, well the obvious one has to be Susan Boyle, perhaps in combination with another personality who has been thrust into the public view suddenly?
I guess it does depend how things pan out over the next few days, but I’d be fascinated if Piers would interview Andy Murray, as it must be a difficult role being Britain’s only half-way decent tennis player. Particulaly if he does actually manage to win Wimbledon, or perhaps even if he doesn’t…
Other must sees would be Michele Obama (maybe a year into the presidency?) Prince William, Duke of Edinburgh, Richard Branson, Donald Trump as mentioned by another poster, Mohammed Al-Fayed, David Beckham, superb classical/jazz violinist and ageing punk Nigel Kennedy…
How about a clandestine interview with everyone’s favourite artist - Banksy? Have him appear in silhouette, with an actor voice-over, get Damien Hirst on the same show.
But please don’t go with the “Oh and I just happen to have a new book/album/programme/show/concert/tv series out” type self-promoting so called celebrity, I think the majority of your potential viewing public desire something a bit deeper, more insightful, funny, moving and intense than that blatantly commercial stuff. We don’t all have cabbages for brains…
June 30, 2009 at 2:20 am
Lonnirose says
Piers, we all know that unless you interview Susan Boyle nobody will watch. Everyone wants to see and hear Susan when the BGT tour is over since we will no longer have access to her performance videos. If you have Susan, your ratings will soar - if not, forget it.
As to the others mentioned above, other than Amanda Holden - never heard of them.
America wants to see Susan!

Jani says
Susan Boyle? You must be kidding.
I think she’s had quite enough of the vile tabloids.
She finally has some help avoiding them now.
Too bad that didn’t happen sooner.
Oh, but then she might have won, and obviously they didn’t want that to happen.

Hi,Piers. Great to hear that a new series of your in - depth interviews is going to be on our screens. Please, could I ask you if you would consider interviewing Marco Pierre White? I’ve read interviews, I have his autobiography but I’ve never actually seen him talk about the highs and lows in his life. Maybe he doesn’t want to talk about everything on television but he’s a very interesting man - as well as being quite captivating to look at! Please?
June 30, 2009 at 1:07 pm
Lonnirose says
Pretty much the consensus, Piers. Everyone wants to see Susan, and perhaps you could provide an orchestra for her and she might favor us with her beautiful voice. Your ratings would go through the roof!
June 30, 2009 at 3:19 pm
Cathy says
I think you should interview Michael Barrymore. Kind of rub it in to him what he let slip through his arrogant nasty little fingers, but what you and Simon did not let get away. Let him explain how he feels now about his treatment of Susan Boyle.

An hour long interview sounds like quite a challenge, but I know that you are up to it, Piers. What about Richard Stearns, once CEO of Lenox and now president of the relief and development organization World Vision? He is a successful business man who has turned his leadership talents and business understanding to work in a different way. He has done many articles and interviews and has recently written a book.
Aside from his own life, he could tell you about the amazing changes he has seen in many lives and many places — valleys of drought and famine turned into lush gardens, disaster victims given new beginnings, orphans growing up to become pillars of strength and hope for their communities, young girls able to get an education because they no longer spend their hours carrying water. Girls who have had some education are known to become mothers of families that are healthier and more economically stable. And in such a way, a little improvement can ripple out to alleviate a wider circle of poverty and suffering. Now that is exciting!!!
Susan Boyle would be great, too, but she would have to sing for part of the hour.
June 30, 2009 at 8:33 pm

I think you should interview Jeremy Clarkson or Robbie Coltrane. That would be one programme to watch!
June 30, 2009 at 8:40 pm

Piersy, Come on….you know…who else other than Susan Boyle? That’d be something to see you two together talking about the “pending dinner”.But please, keep your cloth on.
Nice to have you back Piers.

Piers,
First person should be Susan Boyle, your interview would be watched even in Poland. All other reasons have already been mentionned in the previous comments
I would also like to see your interview with Sir Paul McCartney, Kate Winslett, Daniel Radcliffe, Hugh Grant and Simon Cowell.
And I would like to read something new on your site more often.

Randma says
I went back to count…22 of the 34 comments posted to this point suggest SUSAN BOYLE!!!
Ding, Ding, Ding…I think we have a WINNER!!!!
P.S. I am a fan in Texas, therefore, it would be fantastic if you could post her interview on the web. If that would help your ratings any, you know you can count on the Susan Boyle addicts in USA to help you….
Amanda from Canada aptly described it when she said “I had never heard of you before the Su-nami hit youtube.” True for me.
Also, I am with Faye from Florida…Inquiring minds want to know “What happened to the dinner date?” Did you take her to Burger King, and we missed it????

Hi Piers, No harm to include Susan Boyle in your interview after the BGT Live tour is over, which will end in 3 days time from today, 1.7.09. We will not hear from her after that. Cos’ she’ll be pretty busy with her recording the album and her singing career and probably being an actress.

Given the idea is to grill the subject in depth, and as a result to come up with stuff that even these media-savvy celebs haven’t let out in an interview before, I strongly disagree that Susan should be the target; I doubt Piers will want to do it to her either.

Who else but SUSAN BOYLE of course! It’s the interview the world is waiting for and your ratings would go through the roof. She’s a GLOBAL SUPERSTAR let’s face, nobody else comes close.
July 1, 2009 at 11:09 am
Lesley says
I for one am NOT waiting to see Susan feeling that she’s speaking to someone she trusts, especially in the absence of an audience as suggested above, only to have that conversation relayed via television to a huge viewing audience of the general public, of foes and fans indiscriminately. I’m just thankful that, to me, Piers the media personality seems to well understand that regardless of the potential ratings for him, at least in the short term Susan really does need protection from the rapacious appetite for news of her, even the appetite of her fans.

Hi Piers,
I reckon you should invite the “bravest girl in the world” Hollie Steel to your show. She definately deserves to be interviewed on your show. She’s super talented, professional and beautiful. She has the full package and what a story she has told over the last few moths!!
July 1, 2009 at 3:48 pm

Susan Boyle is the winner hands down here- But maybe Piers knows her very well, and doesn’t want her to be put under that kind of scrutiny - Barbara Walters might be a better choice, because she interviews without an audience present.

I see one of the posters doesn’t trust that you will be kind to Susan. I do. I am one of her millions of faithful fans and I believe that you will continue to protect her. Susan is an international treasure and must always be treated as such. I can’t see you doing anything to hurt her, so she should be the very first guest on your new show. It would help you both.

Piers, your one of my favorite people. I think you are a kind person and that’s why I think you should have Susan on your show. There’s so many things that have been talked about we never heard the answer to. Did you and her have your date? If not, why not? How come the show never gives her flowers after her performance to show how much they appreciate her and all the viewers around the world who tuned in to see her that wouldn’t have normally?
Tell me what your girlfriend meant when she said “Is she blind” when Susan said she liked you? Was she saying that someone like Susan would have no chance with you? That was so rude of her as Susan is adorable, funny, talented and brave. Obviously, your girlfriend doesn’t value those traits in people. You could do worse than Susan. Your girlfriend will lose her looks, then will she have what Susan does? No, we love Susan and we want to see her. If you could have the queen stop by, that would make Susan so happy.
Please, no Michelle Obama, people don’t like her! You want ratings, stick with Susan, millions are waiting to see her.

I really don’t think most media people can be trusted with Susan. Piers would, probably be one of two exceptions. The other woul be the CBC reporter from Canada. Piers could probably get the “deepest” story because Susan really seems to like and trust him.

I’m probably no different than the next person in that I would love nothing more than…more Susan Boyle…but I’d be worried that it would make her a target again. I think she’s fairly insulated from a media onslaught at the moment, as she is still performing for the BGT tour (and doing magnificently every single time, from what I can see via You Tube)
Would you please consider interviewing Ardal O’Hanlon (Father Ted, My Hero). I think he’s delightful. I won’t mind even if you discuss football. Hopefully, I will find a way to see this from Toronto via the internet, if you do.
Thank you for considering my request.
Warmest regards, a fan of yours in Canada.

I don’t see any posters here who think you will be unkind to Susan; I for one am confident you will continue to protect her. Therefore I don’t expect she will be a guest any time soon on this show.
I do actually believe you realise better than most of us, and will indeed have already weighed up to yourself, the potential of such a show to hurt / help you both.
Having, mea culpa, incidentally not known who you were til the Susan Boyle phenomenon broke on BGT, I’ve enjoyed the insights now gained from reading the archives of the Mail on Line, ‘The Insider’ and (yes!) ‘Dont you know who I am’? ‘God Bless America’ is next!

We definitely want you to interview Susan Boyle–but only if she is up to it (we fans are very protective of her). After tomorrow, we want her to get back to finishing her CD–and she also needs some rest from the tour, I would think. Susan is a fascinating person with many facets to her personality. She has seemed so gracious in other interviews–that we all want to see more. One of the things I like about Susan is that when people talk to her she looks them straight in the eye and gives them her full attention–a rare thing these days. There are so many people in the world who have been inspired by Susan. We all want her to know how much she is loved.

Piers, Sorry, this doesn’t relate to this blog but had to make you and Simon aware of the Mirror.co.uk article:
July 5 - by Nick Owens “Tours of Susan Boyle’s home town for tourists”. Please read it. No doubt you will be as offended as I was at the plans for everyone to capitalize on Susan while destroying any quiet life she may be able to have in future. These people are planning to organize tours for thousands of fans all of whom are hoping to meet Susan personally. Am afraid that with hordes of tourists descending on Blackburn, Susan will not have any peace there and may have to move. I hope there will be people around her to help her find a quiet spot where she can have some peace in between her professional undertakings.
Susan is too nice to say no to anyone so there are many people who will take advantage of her.

Like so many of the others on here, I would like to see you interview Susan Boyle. Lets get HER view on things and not just the tabloids as she has received such a lot of bad press and I dont think a lot of it is accurate. Also I agree, that to interview Simon Cowell would be very interesting as we dont see much of him except on the judging panel of telent shows. How about Peter Andre as I know you are interviewing Katie again this week. How about reversing things by having Michael Parkinson on your show. He was the consummate interviewer but do we know much about HIM? Gordon Ramsay would be interesting as would Marco Pierre White. I love your shows and I look forward to them returning in a prime time slot on a Saturday night. I also look forward to you interviewing Dame Helen Mirren but how about Judi Dench or Maggie Smith who are also amongst our top actresses? Lots of scope for this and the next series in those few suggestions I think.
