Another star studded week
September 21, 2009
Another busy week in the world of one Mr. Piers Morgan.
The highlight was the huge finale of this season’s America’s Got Talent. 25 million people tuned into see who would be crowned the winner of a very hard fought show. As well as the winner there was a certain lady that gained more than a few column inches over the weekend.

The Britain’s Got Talent runner up, Susan Boyle showed what she was made of as she delivered a stunning rendition of the Rolling Stones’ Wild Horses. Wrought with emotion and a stirring arrangement Susan gave us an insight into why her soon to be released album I Dreamed A Dream is already a no.1 on pre order.
Whilst out in the US Piers found time to meet up with acting legend Sylvester Stallone to talk about his new film The Expendables which features him, Dolph Lundgren, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mickey Rourke. To read more about what Piers has been up to check out his weekly column in Live magazine The Insider by clicking here.
In his other weekly column for the Mail on Sunday Piers has his target set firmly on the footballer authorities as he questions the seemingly out of step punishment of former Arsenal player Adebayor compared to other players who has brought the game into disrepute. He also finds time to give his views on the latest controversy to rock F1 and applaud the sheer audacity of Roger Federer. To read Piers column click here.

Piers, I flew from Florida to LA to be in the AGT audience to see Susan Boyle’s first US live performance, an experience I will treasure forever and I agree with you her rendition of Wild Horses is stunning. Her voice is so beautiful and so emotional. We love her in America and can’t wait for her return and her CD release.
It was great to see you in person, Piers. I heard you’re on the Today Show today and I set my DVD so that I can watch you when I get home. We hope to see more of you over here in the US.

Yes, Susan is amazing, such a beautiful voice. Can’t wait to get her album. Good luck, Susan, and the best of everything!

Yes Piers, we knew at least 25 million would be watching AGT and you can surely thank Susan for it! Now that she has (as you say) “cracked America†perhaps she will finally command the respect she so richly deserved but never got. Susan never gave up, and her American fans stayed right with her never doubting, that together, we would be a force to be reckoned, and it was validated Wed., Sept. 15, 2009. The red carpet will be stretched across America for her next visit in November. Pray the mobs can be controlled! Now that Susan has her own Fan Site plus lots of other great Susan Fan Sites out there, we can now keep up with her our selves and no longer need to seek other venues.

Thank you Piers!
You tell us about Susan on AGT in a stylish way. She is a lady and I love when you write and behave like a gentleman towards her. On the other hand I like when she do that little wiggle “Piercy baby†that´s cute. I will follow you and keep on looking for some more nice reading.
PS: I was really scared when I saw Susan at Disneyland but this time Simon did everything right. He has my respect DS.

Susan has said on one show that she won’t be doing the Piersy wiggle anymore? Why is that Piers? There’s a rumor going around saying you are secretly married? I think before it goes further you should tell us if it’s true. I hope you didn’t break our Susan’s heart? You all owe a lot to Susan you know?
How about a show of her own? Bring her cat and let her be herself, she’s great!

Hold on! Susan is not in love with Piers. They are friends and take good care of each other. It was never a love affair. Love you too Piers, kind of!
Hope I´m right here.

Charlotte, Susan said she never felt for anyone like she did Piers? Just wondering if you know Susan personally? I know they didn’t have a love affair, but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t have wanted it to be? Piers asked her out on national TV and then never kept up his end and took her anywhere (Spanish Restaurant, flowers, chocolate?). I hear he’s married to Celia, I don’t know if it’s true, but why did he ask Susan out if he wasn’t going to follow through and if it was a stunt, did Susan know?
I hope Susan finds someone who will cherish her for the sweet and kind person she is. It was fun when we all thought they would be together. I’ll miss her wiggle, always made me laugh.

Susan did the wiggle for 2 seconds on Extra. The show that Simon’s ex works on she was interviewing her.

Piers,
I, and everyone else, is very greatful for you and how you backed Susan up all the way, and defended her when she couldnt voice her say so. Im not saying that Simon wasnt there for her, it just seemed that you were there for her more. She reached out when needing a friend, and you were there, Thank you for doing that for her.
Now on the other hand Mr.! Have you or have you not kept your word and taken our Lovely Lady Susan Boyle out for that promised date?! ALOT of Susan’s fans will have you on their hit list if you dont take her out, soon! If you haven’t gotten to know one thing about the Susan Boyle fans, we are a VERY LOYAL bunch and we want no one messing with her and breaking their promise to her.
So what is it sir? Did or didn’t you or are you or are not going to keep this promise?
Thank you.

Sherry, think you’ll agree that Susan is far slimmer than the pic shows- and weren’t we lucky to hear her sing Wild Horse three times, no less? I just felt bad that this was so tiring for her- after all, her rehearsals, plus Disneyland, plus jet lag must have been exhausting.
Wish I could have talked to Piers for more than half-a-minute, but the ushers suddenly appeared…
A day I’ll never forget, for sure!

Piers, thank you for all the positive remarks you have kept up for our Susan. She is so loved, she has no idea how much. Is she coming in November. I will just die if I don’t get to see her and be at her concert. I am handicapped and I need to plan ahead of time. I have never been a fan of anyones before and stared at their pictures and videos dedicated to them & of them. We are totally Susa fans forever and it is painful not to see her in person. Why is that happening to us??? We need a convention where you bring her and we just sit and talk and all get a chance to shake her hand somehow. Will you tell her we love her please Piers. Thank you for all the love you give Susan and treating her right. She is a beautiful lady.

Piers - “real men” keep their promises. If you have not yet done so, please follow through on your invitation and take the lady, Susan, out to dinner. As you’ve publicly acknowledged, Susan’s boosted your career considerably.

Hi Piers,
I too was at the taping of Susan’s appearance on AGT. I am an American but I was in Canada the day I heard about her upcoming first USA performance. In less than 48 hours I was in LA sitting in the studio audience. Like many other of her fans who traveled great distances to see and hear her, wild horses couldn’t drag us away from witnessing this historic event. None of us were disappointed and I for one, am still on a high from that experience. Great thing about this is that all it takes is for me to put her “Wild Horses” recording on and I’m back to that moment she was on stage.
One of the ladies in line at the studio that day who had seen her perform in the BGT live tour warned me, “Diane, she really IS good in person!” I could tell by the tone in her voice that we were in for something special and I was not disappointed. She was totally professional, poised and passionate. But by far the best moment of the night (besides getting to shake your hand) was when the cameras stopped rolling and the crowd was still going nuts, she turned our way and covered her mouth giggling like a school girl! She seemed embarrassed that we actually LIKED her! I hope we made her feel more at ease for the next time she gets up to work her magic on a crowd. She is loved by many and we are here to support her unconditionally!
Thank you for helping her and the kind words you have always spoken about her.

Hi Piers- I got a chance to read the diary of what happened Sept 15th backstage. I loved all your remarks and the account of your reunion with Susan Boyle.
I agree that now you are back in London, that you owe Susan that dinner you asked her out for FIVE months ago.
Her ( and your) fans have not forgotten, and I am sure Miss Boyle has not forgotten, either.
Sooner the better.
Thanks.
