The Auditions are Nearly Over
May 18, 2009
We are nearing the end of the Britain’s Got Talent auditions, and it’s clear what an extraordinary process we’ve seen.
I don’t think any talent show in the history of television has had more global impact than this series of BGT.
And it’s all down to one middle-aged lady from Scotland.
I’ve been working in America the last three weeks, and everywhere I’ve gone, from Seattle to New York, Houston to Los Angeles, I have had to run the Susan Boyle gauntlet when I walk the streets.
And I mean gauntlet. Literally one in five people have stopped me to ask about Susan. She has become one of the biggest celebrities in America, and when the live shows start next week, the world’s No1 superpower will just grind to a halt! Quite astonishing given then nobody had ever heard of her a month ago, and most of her fans have only seen her sing for 90 seconds.
Of course, it’s not a one-horse race, as I keep saying. Susan faces incredibly tough competition - last night, two more great acts emerged to challenge her, the mini Beyonce, Natalie Okri, and that incredible little dancer Aidan Davis.
Add those to the list of potential winners, always assuming they made it through to the Top 40 of course (I repeat, prepare to be shocked when the shortlist is revealed next Saturday) and boy have we got a show on our hands.
It will all come down to how the acts perform on the night.
The live environment sorts out the genuine possible stars from the wannabees, trust me.
Even Simon gets nervous before those shows, and nothing usually fazes him.
Anything could happen - Susan could come out, and fall flat on her face.
I hope she doesn’t though, obviously. Apart from anything else, the fact that her audition performance has been viewed 190 million times on YouTube means that I have, too.
Which is why a rather attractive Canadian lady came up to me by the pool of my Beverly Hills hotel yesterday, and said: ‘Oh my god, I love your face in the Susan Boyle video. So kind and sensitive..’
When I’d stopped laughing (these are not allegations I’ve ever faced before), she added: ‘My friend and I would like to take you to dinner tonight….’
I couldn’t make it, but I do want to thank Susan for all she is doing for my street cred in America.

Of course it’s not a one horse race, wouldn’t be a contest.
But for many the success has been ‘appearing’ to some it will be the success of their future endeavours.
For some it will be what lines their pockets.
But for those that watch it will be the lasting memory of an holistic performance.
Sometimes in not wining the race its taking part.

Well itÅ› true. Before Susan Boyle I had never watched an episode of BGT; now I have seen series I, II and III.
Susan Boyle is as lovable as Agatha Christie’s Mrs. Marple; and I can’t wait to buy her CD.
The mini Beyonce, is just another kid with a great voice, Natalie Okri, and it will take years before Aidan Davis gets to be a better dancer than George Sampson.
Sure we all will be shocked again when your shortlist is revealed next Saturday: as your jury shortlist has become the weakest link in the BGT formula.

Good though they undoubtedly are, if another singer wins it there won’t be much difference between BGT and X Factor. I’m still waiting for that elusive new, fantastic comedian - haven’t seen one yet this series! Best Wishes to you Piers. Tracey

I noticed also what that Canadian lady said: you ALL.. Simon, Amanda and you.. looked beautiful and “normal”

I didn’t even know that BGT existed before I saw Susan’s video LOL.
Whatever happens now in the competition, she has taught the whole world a lesson in humility.
Mrs.Boyle is not in a win/win situation, she has already won!!!
So the best of luck for her future!

It’s not just you Piers, she has brought attention to many people who a lot of us in the US didn’t even know before. Paul Potts for one. I never heard of him until I saw his video featured on the sidebar of Susan’s U-tube. I have watched him several times now. I also ordered a CD of his. Then there is Elaine Paige. There are many in US who also never heard of her. I have now listened to her music and watched her over and over. In addition Susan has awakened, once again, the play of Les mis. Ruthie Henshall is another one who has gotten some renewed fame, thanks to Susan.
The biggest shock for me was not you, because I have always liked you. I watch you on AGT but honestly I couldn’t stand Simon on AI so I stopped watching it. I thought he was so cruel to people….. until….. I saw his reaction to Susan on BGT. There are some shots of Simon on that video that blow me away. He does have a human side. I didn’t think he did, but he does.

I forgot to say about Susan´s next performance.. I´ve heard that it is “Whistle down the Wind”..
A part of the lyrics tells the song could be for her mother (the first told us about her own life):
“I’ll be there to hold you, I’ll be there to stop
The chills and all the weeping
Make it clear and strong, so the whole night long
Every signal that you send, until the very end
I will not abandon you my precious friend..”
As you know Susan took care of her mother about ten years before the death at age 91. It´s something that not many people are capable to do. THERE she didn´t fall flat on her face. That´s why I very much respect Susan. Singing has been her shield against bullies and now it is going to earn her an own home and enough money for the rest of her life. I am not personally afraid that she might fail or not win.. I have started to sing, play and listen to real good music once again.. just for her. And so many people have said at Youtube that they have started singing, painting etc. again. She is a winner already in many ways.
Best wishes from Finland

I agree. Susan has already won in my book, regardless she is going to win BGT or not. I will be first in line to buy her CD. By the way, Piers, are you going to have the hot date with Susan after the finals?? Looking forward to see Susan’s next performance this weekend and news on your date with Susan.

I know you’re duty-bound to tout the other contestants, Piers, but you have to face facts. It’s all about Susan now, whether she wins or loses. The global interest in BGT stems from her appeal alone. Were she not on the show this year, I doubt that any of the other acts would even rate a mention in the US press.
Even if Susan loses the competition, there is a whole world eager to embrace her. Any other potential winner stands to become the next Robbie Williams: acclaimed in a smaller venue but unable to conquer America as Susan has done. Susan will remain popular due to her talent and charm, regardless of the show’s outcome. It’s all but assured that she’ll sign a record deal even if Simon and Sony are stupid enough to let her get away (not that I think they are).
Good luck with the show, Piers. After watching Susan sing perfectly a cappella at a moment’s notice and hearing her stunning rendition of Cry Me a River, I don’t thinks she needs luck to succeed.

I, along with thousands of others across the “big water,” did not know BGT existed. I have compared three seasons with AGT and I find very little comparison. I am much more enthralled with the performances BGT has provided my “talent-starved” senses. Congrats to you!

Hi there, from Hungary. Been here with this swow circa since the beginning, and love it so much. We have here talent shows but nothing as awesome as this. Have to admit that there are many cases when I found myself crying on an act.

There are so many acts now that have multiple elements to them and not just plain singing (…flower arranging for example…), I wonder if Susan can really stand out as much without the surprise element that made her first performance so stunning? Also, will she choose to continue ’surprising’ us like Signature (aptly named) last year, or will she simply rely on her core talent and on finding the right song? Will all this ‘global support’ be enough or are voting audiences perhaps more open minded and less celebrity obsessed than those captured by her as a concept? Will fame last if it’s not deep rooted?
I know you kind of have a vested interest in saying anything could happen at this stage, Piers, but I think you’re right and I wouldn’t bank on anything.
Susan has had an incredible impant and has a lot going for her but, ultimately, I should hope, if she’s good enough, it’s her own choice what happens after the competition and she may not choose to start so high at the top…
Besides being eager to find out what happens to her, and also to hear her beautiful voice again, I am also just as excited to see what some of the dance acts look like with the right lighting, what the comedians are like with different gags, and whether anyone can go the extra mile like George in the rain last year.
Why am I so attached to this show?? Well partly for the acts, the laughs, the queen, but Piers it wouldn’t be the same without you.
What is this ‘big shock’ you keep talking about?! It better be worth it!!
Take care

I have thought about you saying Susan could come out at the semi-finals and fall flat on her face. I suppose she could but I think we would all believe it was staged to happen. We would think it was a way to get her off the show and into a studio recording.
I hope it doesn’t happen because she has waited and been through enough humiliation that she should have this. Jesus God, after watching her on that Idiots (can’t remember his name and don’t want to) show back in the 90s where he was crawling around on the floor like some mental reject, she deserves everything good that is waiting for her. Some one ought to punch that guy right in the face.

Well.. I must inform you still more.. there´s going to be FGT, too!! Just like almost every country already have their own Idol contests.
Good mantra is: if it makes money in America, it makes money elsewhere, too. Believe me, the businessmen have known it a very long time.
Susan is of Irish origin (both parents Irish), living in Scotland.. perhaps it´s the best combination. Everygody knows that Irish people can truly sing. Only I wonder why her special talent hasn´t been noticed before. Seeing that Barrymore “talent-show” I felt simply sick and sorry for her.

Piers, you are a delight to watch. Your facial expressions say everything.
I am in the USA and it does not appear that the show will be televised here. I may have to wait until I see the recaps on the BGT website.
I am really hoping that if Susan Boyle can pull off that audition and not mind the jeers etc that she faced that night… I am really hoping she will give another stellar performance and win.
You are an interesting man that I really did not know much about until Susan Boyle. So, I thank her as I enjoy reading about your views and your blog.
Give Susan some encouragement, if you can, from those of us in the United States whose lives she has touched in ways she cannot even imagine.
Good Luck and enjoy!

Susan Boyle's fan says
Piers,
Our Susan (yes the world has claimed that Susan Boyle is ours) “fall flat” on her face? Don’t think so. Susan had endured so much bullies and hardship in her life, and then to face those rude people in the audience laughing at her, not to mention all you 3 judges looked at her as if she was a joke. Even after all that abuse, she stood there on stage and sang so beautifully, I am sure she can handle herself in the next stage of the competition. I know you have to sound fair to other contestants, so you don’t express your true opinion. If not for Susan, us lot from North America would not have heard about BGT, Paul Potts or even you Piers. Susan made the show known to the rest of the world. The world falls in love with Susan not just because of her beautiful voice, but everything about her, her kind heart, her personality and most of all her devotion to her mother. She sacrifice her personal happiness for her parents, all her sibblings left home. After her mother died she was left alone to pick up the pieces. And yet she is able to find life again. What an extraordinary woman. She is truly a beautiful saint. Susan, in the eyes of all who love you (that would be the whole world) you have already won, competition or no competition. PLEASE MAKE LOTS OF CDS FOR US TO BUY. LOVE YOU SUSAN !!!

I too had never heard of BGT until Brian Williams on NBC in the States made mention of Susan Boyle on his nightly newscast. That is when I went to YouTube and found her video audition. Knocked me right off of my feet so to speak. Susan is a sensation here in the States. If she wants to cross the pond she can be our “Lullaby of Broadway.” New York is calling Susan…. and Chicago, Los Angeles, and you name it.
Whether Susan wins BGT doesn’t matter anymore because she has already won hearts all over the globe and is the people’s winner. She doesn’t need to prove herself to anyone. She has already done that. Thanks Piers for being so kind to Susan. You are indeed a gentleman in the truest sense of the word.

I think everyone here (and around the world) would agree on that at least 90% of BGT this year is all about Susan.
I never heard about the show before and I only learned about it because I accidentally found Susan’s video on youtube. I can follow the show through youtube only because I am in Canada.
Piers, Is there a way itv and other producers are capable to move with the wave, take advantage of this opportunity, and start broadcasting this show in Canada and other countries? even if it is only for the big bucks? I can’t believe you guys are wasting this opportunity.
Lastly, I would like to say that Susan has already won! even if she doesn’t win BGT. I also think that another big time winner is Natalie. I have no doubt she will become a Diva in a few years from now. I think she will have the looks, she got rhythm and will be a good dancer if trained, and most importantly, she got an amazing voice.

Bluewren says
If Susan Boyle succumbs to nerves on the big night and falls flat on her face it will be because of this unprecedented tsunami of interest from the world via BGT and the internet. She has brought you and Simon Cowell along with her
and given you two and BGT more publicity and exposure than Simon Cowell could ever have dreamed of.
Yet you continue to treat her as if she were just another contestant or……. at least you try to.
If you have so much talent as you boast then go with that talent and let Susan Boyle off the hook to pursue her own path now.
You don’t want to let her have the nervous breakdown that her family who really know her fear and see the signs of coming do you? This situation is a new one introduced by technology.Don’t make her it’s first victim.
If nothing else think of the bad publicity that might bring.BGT could go belly up in the water and you and Simon along with it.Not an impossiblity is it!That kind of exposure can work both ways you know. Protect Susan is all I am trying to say listen to her famliy.

Bluewren had a VERY good opinion. The most important thing must be Susan´s welfare. But she has as far as I know the sovereignty of her own life so she is not a dependant of her family.
How people could know what is going to happen.. in fact it is quite impossible. The only person whose will and opinion has to be heard is Susan. You (in fact I mean Simon Cowell) could offer her a fair contract right now. I come from a family where there were 11 members (I have 4 brothers and 4 sisters) and boy did they always know what I was really thinking and feeling? NO! Did they want me to do some difficult jobs they didn´t want? YES! Did they say they´ll want to help me when I had troubles sometimes? YES! Did they be able to do it? NO! In fact I took care of them so many times. I was the radical person in the family who always did everything first and differently. Of course I appreciate discussing with them but I´ll never ever let them decide what I´m gonna do. Why should Susan have to do that?
If the family was seriously worried they´ll contact a doctor who then gives BGT his opinion. Of course the family is thinking Susan´s best but how have they tried to really help her in this singing business. Susan had to spend all her money to make the demo tape..
There´s something quite unhealthy in this whole talent show. Trying to find the best.. how you can know a singer is better than a dancer??!! What does it mean? I say: Nothing! Hardly can a professional music doctor say that one singer is better than the other singer.

Having watched various BGT videos, I’m beginning to feel that BGT should have two categories; that is, for adults and children. You can’t compare Signature and George Sampson, and Susan Boyle and Hollie Steel, for example. Those kids are very very good. However, in the sense of maturity and such, who’s better? Of course, Signature and Susan Boyle.
May 20, 2009 at 3:51 pm
Amanda says
I echo the comments that Susan has brought BGT worldwide exposure. I too had never heard of BGT until I saw Susan’s youtube clip. Watching all the clips I agree with night bird that multiple categories might be in order - perhaps adults and children or perhaps three categories; dance, singing, and variety.

Here’s what i’d advise CNN…they need to get a batering ram and bust through the door where Susan sings next tell the Brit television network “Sorry this performance of Susans has got to go international for the world to see live for they demand it ! CNN can have a countdown as a sidebar on their screen….4 days, 12 hours and 13 minutes before Susan sings ! Yes they might be asked if they’re serious but they can answer back, “Of course its not an earth shaking news event like peace in the middle east but Susan sure does put alot of joy in people’s hearts. The commentary could be, “Susan shook the world once ladies and gentlemen….the question is can she do it again”
May 20, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Eva says
“Can Susan shake the world again..?”
Why couldn´t she if her voice is in good condition and if she is not too nervous? Because she has that kind of voice which (as I think) by it´s vibration effects human body, brain and especially the hypothalamus in a special way. That´s why so many people around the world report goosebumps, shivers, tears. Believe me: this is connected with human anatomy and physics and it has nothing to do with opinions
This voice belongs to the same category with Mozart´s music: it soothes people and even animals.

I just loved to hear Miss Boyle sing, especially after I heard “Cry Me A River.” At first when I heard her sing “I Dreamed A Dream” I was just as gobsmacked as Susan said she was. I have never written a fan letter to anyone before, but she is exceptional, and I listen to both songs several times every day. Hi, Piers:
Surely you or Simon, with all of your USA television connections, can work out a quick deal with some entity to broadcast the BGT semifinals and finals LIVE in America! FOX or FOX News would probably jump at the chance, don’t you think? Millions would probably tune in every day/night! (Not a bad way to recoup advertising dollars that never materialized for the 220,000,000 internet views to date.) Susan’s televised appearances on BGT would probably have a bigger audience than the American Idol finals!

Okay, I’m 51 and raising two teen sons age 18 and 16. There is nothing more “reality” than this. So, how in the name of hell can we compare Susan Boyle and all the other talent against each other? Let’s see, we have vocal, instrumental, etc. Young, older, etc. This is apples and oranges! I never watch reality shows, much less a lot of TV. I stumbled upon the whole Susan Boyle craze because I have a Yahoo acount. But, to someone like me, it is a no brainer. She gave up a dream to take care of her mother. So… when do we give credit for this, instead of warehousing the elderly? She is truly gifted in more ways than one!

I heard the Simpsons have referred to Susan as South Park, too. Alain Boublil, the lyricist behind Les Misérables, told “The Insider” he was “bowled over” by Susan Boyle’s performance (there is a youtube video which shows his speech).
And still some people are thinking if she is going to get a career? Or what happens if she doesn´t win or if she is pulled out of the contest.
She is truely famous globally now. She is admired at first hand by the big age-classes (born after war with LOTS of people) but also older and younger people independent from their nationality, race or sex.

One little “roadsign†was all it took to make 2 amazing talents worldnews. Here in Belgium it was a title in the newspaper: “Is Susan Boyle going to be the new Paul Potts?†(Ok, this was written in Flemish, and even though I believe you are a man of many talents, I suppose you don’t understand Flemish, so I translated it for you).
Reading the other comments on your blog, I notice the same thing happened in a lot of countries all around the world.
The result is a real hype, millions of people, including yours truly, are now watching BGT, most of them on You Tube.
Paul Potts surely benefits from it, especially good timing with his second CD, and I suppose it won’t do any harm to Susan either.
Well, good luck with the show, I’ll be watching!

Why did Kieran the 12 year old drummer not get through? It would appear that certain acts were voted through who haven’t a hope of winning, and will no doubt be eliminated in the next round. Why? Please do the right thing and bring this boy back where he belongs and have 41 finalists. It’s never too late to right a wrong.
Thank you
Isobel

Piers, this is completely inappropriate, but I must say that you are so charming and adorable to watch on the show. You also have one of the greatest jobs on the planet. I wonder, however, if you have received any backlash from your public dinner invitation to Susan Boyle. Although it was a kind gesture on your part, it surely must have created some discomfort for the other contestants on the show. Since the show involves people competing for a winning spot, a dinner invitation from a judge to a rival contestant might easily be construed as unfair.

Yes Susan Boyle s a lovely lady with a great voice. Jean also has a nice voice. But this thing is no longer fresh, no longer a WOW factor, like it was with Paul Potts the first time around.
I’m glad they made it, of course. Natalie Okri definetly seems to have a bright future ahead of her and so do Holly and Aidan. Natalie is the one that for me is the most natural at what she does. When she started singing…it was just awesome. She’s genuine, has this “something” in her. I really like her. It would be good to see a non-singer win though. And I would really see something with a true WOW factor.
You know how America has had their Terry Fator, for instance? Now, THAT was something. Such a difficult act, he definetly deserved to win and I hope he will continue to be successful. He’s really Entertaining, with capital E. And he can appeal to almost everyone.
In Britain so far some of the the most unique acts I;ve seen (and which are interesting for me) were definetly Kate and Gin (absolutely lovely!), the contortionist Iona (wow!), Starvos Flatly (the relatioship, the communication in the dance and in general seems really fantastic), Greg Pritchard (say what you will, a counter tenor IS a rare gift. I hope his future will look up). And Adam’s “Eugene the Librarian” act was also pretty good, I really want to see what else this Adam fellow can do and how far he can go.
Ah, Julian the saxophonist was also ok but you should see what the Spanish version had- a very avant garde saxophonist, really brilliant Guy Pedro “Saxo” Rafael Garcia who presented something so unique and good that he was misunderstood because his talent is not really of mass appeal.
You know I’m having a blast comparing all the various editions of Got Talent but no other version is as entertaining as British, where you really see a gallery of weird (some acts are really too much), unique, nice, funny people parading in front of the judges. However successful they may be, though, it’s nice to see their interests and their styles- that;s a poitive side of such programmes in general.
You have Ant and Dec, an absolutely hilarious duo, they are excellent, they really make the show entertaining. I can’t believe I never heard of them before.
By the way. I absolutely loved Mr Morgan’s act with Air-o-Smith.It was absolutely hilarious and one of my most favourite moments in the show. (Good job, Sir! Mr Cowell’s face when Mr Morgan decided to go on stage was priceless!) The other was when Dec swayed his way onto the stage to take Andy (the sweet, sweet fellow!) off the stage.
Well the choices have been made, let’s see what happens next, but it’s likely to be a tough competition from what i;ve seen.
Best regards.

Anyway, just want to say, what a great programm this is! And I love the judges, even Simon, it’s so great to see his face change, when he’s in a faul mood and somebody like Susan startles him !!!

If I long for a touch of romantic moments, I’m looking at the Susan Boyle video. Her voice sounds so heavenly and Piers, you look at her in such a fascinating way, that no female hearth can remain untouched. It’s amazing! Thanks to both of you, for this special moment, you had the chance to be recorded. I have never written any comment to anyone before, but this video is so impressive, that I just couldn’t hold off. I am a 52 year old woman, living in Bucharest, looking forward to watch Ms Boyle’s next performance and to buy her first CD.

Piers, you are a joy. So intelligent and also very warm-hearted and I love your sarcastic wit. Your brand of writing (your column) is what I would hope to learn. You are never boring, always interesting and not bad looking either! I hope you continue to do the one-on-one interview show as well (although, how you find time for all of this is beyond me), you have a way of getting to the truth with your subjects. Congratulations on all of your success.

Hi Piers,
I read that you would kiss Susan Boyle on TV during the semi-finals if she asked. Well, I think it might be a good idea for you to take her to that dinner you promised. Susan probably has her heart set on it. (I know I do.) Nothing has to come of it, but it would be nice to do this.

Enlighten me and tel me why the Kid drummer did not get in ??? The acts of that star wars guy with a mask n etc = crap and also the not so talented wanna be female dancer with the licking n etc, and also the female who one was once a good dancer but now massive and with no problems showing off her u know what = not worth being in semifinals. I think u did a mistake there! The other semi finalists are indeed great choices.

Canadians should be allowed to vote…we are sort of like Britain aren’t we? LOL…I love Susan Boyle and she has done many people a big favor..I now know about Paul Potts, Elaine Paige, you, Amanda,…I am hoping she wins. After a dance act performs at the variety show..then what? Susan is the real deal. Funny, charming, brave, scared, sassy, shy…AND VERY TALENTED!!! She is truly the best act so far.

I just watched Susan Boyle’s performance of Memories from Cats on you tube. I can’t wait for her CD to come out. Piers, you are very much a gentleman. I can’t wait to see how the date with Susan comes out. I’ve watched America’s Got Talent with you on it and I’m impressed that you like women with some meat on their bones. I’m tired of the skinny waif-like girls getting all the attention. It’s good to know there are some ‘real men’ out there who are looking for real women, not pre-pubescent-looking waifs.

Why did the judges not put through the young drummer Kieran Gaffney. It doesnt make sense. An explanation from the judges I think is necessary. It was appalling.

It´s amazing how Susan´s voice has become quickly even better during the time after her first audition. Now she can get top training finally! I cannot imagine how her voice is going to sound in the future after one of two years when she can relax and become more confident and trust that there are lots of people who are supporting her!!
Of course she was quite nervous at the semifinals but only few people (if anybody) have ever been in the same situation as she is. First audition: nobody thought she could sing at all, everybody bullying.. second time the whole world eagerly waiting to hear this angelic voice! And Susan surely needed to know that people in U. K. accept her and not only three judges and a noisy crowd
It was perhaps the most important night in her life. I hope this assured her that she has finally made a breakthrough.
And to Pier´s about dating with La Susan.. I suppose there are already some thousands of men around the world who are truly deeply in love with Susan
You indeed have some competition, too ! Of course intelligent people mostly understand that you somehow try to compensate the rough behavior of the judges and audience at the first time. But the most effecting beauty is not on surface, it surely is inside.. true? Shells with pearls know it.

The canadian girl was absolutely right. I also loved your face when Suzan was singing first time, and I thought, oh I would like my boyfriend looking at me like this… It was a really beautiful way of looking at her. And you are right, because of Suzan, I discovered you, and now I am very much interessted in what you are doing, writing, what happened in your life, and I like very much what I discovered about you. (Sorry that I did not know you before but I live in Swizerland and despite I left a part of my heart in Sussex some years ago I don’t know all popular people ;-).
Take care of you

I had never watched any of these shows until someone sent me the U-tube of Susan Boyle. All the fuffa and starlets, and so called ‘beauty’ is same old same old. Here was something authentic, genuine and true to life. Pure, simple, truthful. And most of all the true way those kinds of people are mocked and laughed at. It was a tremendous lesson for me. Why would we not think that she could sing? is the outer skin connected to the vocal chords? Is being rich and famous a prerequisite for a good ‘voice’? Or is being very thin connected to the singing?
I love what Susan said, “i have always worked hard to prove myself, that I did have something to offer?” Oh my, she sure does!
A weed is a flower whose beauty has not yet been discovered. Susan Boyle is a beautiful flower, and I just hope and pray that she will be treated like she truly deserves. Keep in mind that Susan has had to learn to defend herself, against all rejection all her life. Thus you see the little jigger sense of humor? Sometimes we have to laugh even at ourselves to keep from crying.
Piers you have been very kind to Susan, and I truly appreciate that. I can only hope that through the months ahead, you can prove to be a good help to her in giving her some word of encouragement. The race before her is tough, and I know that there are other great talents, as for me, I do hope she wins, because of her, but for me, she is already a winer in my heart. I don’t think i will ever be able to stop praying for her success and for her dream to not be stolen.

How great it was, Susan Boyle so lovable you want to reach out and hug her;
her courage and her singing Oh God words fail me the intrinsic beauty of her spirit. Then she cracks us all up by becoming hilariously bawdy
about you ” Piersy baby “and she’s got the baby part right! A very clever delightful ” baby boy” playing a dangerous game. You appeal to her latent maternal instinct I think ( that must be why you slipped and called her a little old lady very Freudian)and she is very possibly also “at that time of life” .She felt the need of a “friend”. She chose you!. How right she was remains to be seen I for one am looking forward to the pictures from that “romantic dinner”.you will be posting them won’t you? They could send this blog into orbit.Especially if she wins BGT.Here’s hoping so .anyway

honestly, I never heard about BGT or the 3 judges before Susan.
Though I read news about Connie, the little girl, but just bring me any interest to digging into or even search around youtube, but Susan do move me by her personality, her performance and smile.
She might not be the best singer, but definitely more than good, even to me as a chinese speaking person.
I thought she is an angel despite the news is real or not. We all know those journalists. anyone would react like that , journalist can’t treat us as fool. the way we love her coz she’s so real!

It is over now the BGT final fiasco, the touring and now the first recordings what a ride it has been and now we are in a slump.Waiting, waiting ,waitng for what ;yes for the release of the recording but something else is missing something crucial and yes Piers it is YOU.Now is the perfect time for that dinner date and back into the limelight and the breach once more.
Are you up for it?Is it really going to happen? It’s now or never Piers.Or has Susan moved on past the “crush”? oh no that would be such an anti climax. MMMnnnnnnnn. No not Simon ,Piers it has to be you.
